Signed up for leveling roulette on my BLM expecting it to be low level content. Got Great Gubal Library. Whined a bit because the last few times I ran it on BLM I had loads of trouble keeping Enochian up at bosses.

Trash is going kind of slow, tank is doing small pulls, but I still do fire II spam then flare, sometimes fire II spam flare convert flare if it's a big pack, sometimes put up Enochian if it's a ways out to the boss and just two mobs. Pace is pretty decent for all that. I use Manaward on myself at every opportunity, and cast Apocastasis on the tank whenever it seems useful as well as eye for an eye at every largish pack.

Shockingly, I don't die (despite standing in things here and there) and I manage to either keep Enochian or renew it quickly for all of the boss fights. And I get a few lucky procs at the last boss that let me drop orbs where they're supposed to go, run over to help with seals, and keep or renew Enochian. So much concentration T_T Feeling very poor about my performance, I commend the other dps, leave, and am quite surprised at the two comms my party members bestowed on me.

Trial roulette with a friend. He recently got scholar to level 60 and wanted to play it, while I felt like playing WHM again after not having touched that job for a good while. So we signed up for trial roulette and got Final Steps of Faith. Shouldn't be too much of the problem if you have decent healers - it was my first time healing it on WHM, but I healed the duty a lot of times on AST. My friend though was there for the second or third time, and never healed Final Steps before, so he tells me he might die once or twice.

To keep it short: Now I know that if the party has a summoner who uses Resurrection, I can solo heal the fight...

I just had a run of A9 that was abandoned.

One of the healers insists on "helping" with the adds, pulling the big spider one from the first set, which is already in the right place and doesn't need to be activated at all, to the other corner so it doesn't get pulled into the lava and the boss absorbs it. What's worse, due to this, they stop healing, causing the MT to die. A wipe follows not long after. They do this every attempt. Despite me telling them not to. Despite me putting down a way marker to point them where to pull it to. And every run, the MT eventually dies, sometime sooner sometimes later, and chaos and a wipe inevitably follow. And of course they don't say a word. Eventually someone leaves. Then everyone leaves.

I knew it was a bad sign when I had to use holmgang within the first minute of the fight.

Doing roulettes last night with an FC mate. When we got to leveling, I really wanted to get the exp bonus for my NIN, but I hadn't done my level 58 quest yet (I are lazy). However, I was like "What are the odds of getting the Vault? Probably pretty low. Let's just do this." First, the queue was insta-queue for double DPS (my FC mate and I were like what is this witchcraft, considering it was pretty late our time, and when does that ever really happen? XD). Second, as luck would have it, it was the Vault. XD

I loaded in and was just like "Welp. This is embarrassing. I haven't done my level 58 quest yet. Wasn't expecting to be thrown into The Vault." XD We had a good laugh, and the run was like any other Vault run... The tank handled things well, considering our healer was still in IRONWORKS GEAR with a level 56 NQ weapon. Healing gear dropped for them...and they passed on it all. v.v Well, except for the weapon that dropped after Ser Sherbet/Emperor Zurg. But there were lots of scary moments with the tank dying at least once, and their health plummeting like a watermelon dropped from a skyscraper.


To add my own 2 gil to the DRK-Darkside-Toggle debate: I don't ever bother toggling it on and off between pulls. I just leave it up 100% of the time. The only time Darkside falls off for me is if I stop paying attention to my MP, or if I get a little bit too Dark Arts happy. :3c But, other than that, I don't have issues usually from keeping it on all the time. But that's just my 2 gil. :3

THIS. Lost count on how many times i run into this issue in A9. I will never understand why people are so trigger happy to dps an extra add that is already in the right location =='

Yeah. And then insist on pulling it to a different corner where it won't be eliminated properly. It's like they understand that adds need to be activated and moved, but have no clue why.

Also, the bard kept throwing Warden's Paean on me pre-pull, for some reason.

Maybe they were a character owned by this BRD I met in a SophEx clear party once who legit thought Warden's was a shield that protected the tank from damage. .___.

Yeah. And then insist on pulling it to a different corner where it won't be eliminated properly. It's like they understand that adds need to be activated and moved, but have no clue why.

Also, the bard kept throwing Warden's Paean on me pre-pull, for some reason.

They were probably doing it with the intent to auto-clear your pacification from using Berserk.

Did leveling roulette, again, with an FC mate. Went, again, on my level 58 NIN. Still haven't done my level 58 quest (I know, I know...but I was doing the ARR Allied Beast Tribe quest line thing today D: !!!). Surely, I won't get the Vault again. Surprise! The Vault! And boy, did the roulette gods hate me today.

Get paired with a DRK and a BRD. My FC mate is on SCH. And I'm, of course, my scrubby NIN.

This BRD. Is level 60. Not using Wanderer's Minuet. I noticed before the first boss because the mobs were taking forever to die (didn't help that they weren't AOEing them, or using their Flaming Arrow). I figured, maybe they forgot to turn it on. After all, they got synced down, and I've done that before. So I mention it. Silence. They don't turn it on. Mention it again after the first boss. They finally turn it on...only to turn it off after one trash pull. They came in with the tank, because every time I or my FC mate asked them why they kept turning it off (and NOT turning it back on), the tank answered with: "They haven't played in a while, and forgot." ...Yeah, but they had it on, AND THEN TURNED IT OFF. This continues on to Sir Grinneaux. I mention that Wanderer's Minuet is a 30% damage increase, and it also gives a bard access to Iron Jaws AND Empyreal Arrow, their most potent attack after Sidewinder. Well, the bard refuses to turn Minuet back on for the rest of the dungeon. I ask why is it off again, and the tank said that they told him to.

?!?!?!?!!

WHY WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE TO PURPOSELY GIMP THEIR DAMAGE!??!?!?!
Ofc, the tank wasn't hardly ever using Darkside, so I guess I really shouldn't be surprised.

I can't. I just can't with people.
I'm going to go do my level 58 NIN quest now... while drowning in my BRD/DRK tears.
