This is untrue. Guides are fairly easy to find on Youtube. Mizzteq is pretty consistent with her updates and she goes into quite a bit of detail. I think the only thing she doesn't have a guide for at the moment is Void Ark. And maybe some high end Savage.
To be fair there's no particular efficient way for people to learn and retain information. It's completely subjective. Some people soak up information through watching a video whilst others do so through reading a summary. Then there's people who learn best through throwing themselves in the thick of the action and seeing how things play out for themselves and responding to them as needed. Of course some people are just lazy/disinterested but it's not always the case.
Me to a tee. Kinaesthetic-mathematical learner here. I need to throw myself into it. Watching video guides, I retain maybe 0.5% of the information from them (even after watching them 5-10 times). Best to just throw myself into the deep end and draw the links myself as I practice.
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
I am one of those people when it comes to dungeons (not extremes and what not). I've tried watching videos and I lose interest about 3 minutes in or I manage to watch it all but I forgot most of it while waiting for 30 minutes for the que.
I also feel it's easier to have a general run down before each boss. Saying "Move left, dodge this, jump right" before each boss is way easier than trying to digest the entire dungeon before hand. Plus giving a quick run down is what everyone else does in every other MMO I've ever played, didn't realize this was even an issue.
Problem with the guides are that the vast majority is outdated. Most mechanics are skipped these days.
When i was still trying to get sephirot he hard way i did watch her guides they where very usefull. But for most regular dungeons 24 mans, any guide will just confuse you. Also each group has its own way of tackling some mechanics so you'll end up asking anyway
why not just reply with a quick answer? or is it to much work to communicate properly in a mmo these days? :P
Same here I have to go in semi blind, having watched a video but not being able to place anything into context / forgetting most. after i get a feel of it i have to go back to video's and write up a kind of timeline of what i need to do while watching several video's again and again. then i can go in properly.I am one of those people when it comes to dungeons (not extremes and what not). All way too much effort to even consider doing for any kind of dungeon / 24 man.
Probably because EX Primals are slightly more complicated than a nice one-liner. I've spent more time explaining trial mechanics to people in this game than I have executing them.
OP doesn't talk about people who go into dungeons without reading/watching guides. He is talking about those people, who not only read or watched any guide, but also demand to explain everything from other random players they met.
I have never; not once, in all my time playing this game, seen anyone demand an explanation for fight or dungeon.
