I'd rather take a single pulling tank than one hellbend on pulling the whole dungeon despite lacking the gear/routine to do so, just because the tryhard meta told them so

[QUOTE=JunseiKei;3942742]Depends on the dungeon. For older dungeons well I havent gotten maxed gear yet maybe its something you can tank and heal when you have gear thats 230 plus, ha but Im not tryin to heal from twenty adds, when my gear level is 150, to me that even takes away from the experience of the dungeon itself. and I think what Ive noticed is alot of people think they are pullin every add on these pulls but they arent from what Ive seen Ive been swarmed so many times as a healer from a big pull. I would say its about 50 , 50 on big pulls goin good are bad.
And you know what? That's cool.
For me, whose very first experience to a speedrun was queuing in with a garuda weapon in vanya, having a warrior ask me is it cool to speedrun, explained to me what a speedrun was and noticing my gear was, let's face it, terrible... I still wanted to give it a go. He told me what to do. I remember shaking, thinking oh man, I'm going to mess this up so hard and we're gonna wipe, it'll be all my fault, I'll get yelled at (yeah, I'm actually a really anxious person). We didn't wipe! You know what? It was fun! It was so scary doing it the first time, but it was fun!
Truth be told, if I hadn't had that experience, I'd have probably shied away from speedruns and full pulls. I can't blame others for not even wanting to attempt it when so many become incredibly toxic to others for failing to perform to their standards, made worse with a wipe. That's why, even though I prefer large pulls, I don't go on a raging tirade or make the run more difficult should the group decide to do small pulls.
Trololololololololol. It would be a blessing to be booted from a party where you're the tank.I always pull one pack per time.
If I see a DPS pull more on their own, they will also be tanking that pack on their own.
If my healer get's aggro because of it, you're in a lot of trouble, cause I will save my healer, but I sure as hell will boot you from my party.
If you want me to pull more, you can ask, nicely.
And if the healer is okay with it then I will pull faster or larger groups.
But speedruns?
Not on my watch.
You must also have a count down macro you insist on using at every boss and probably fight over hate in Library of the Ancients. :3
Which tank would you guys say is the least effective with big pulls.
My first experience was back when Brayflox hard mode was the dungeon to farm - basically you just did the first pull + boss and leave / repeat for tomestones. My gear was also terrible, but this was when SCH's lustrate was % based and not potency based. And you know what? That's cool.

So basically, we mass pulled and then I just spammed 6x lustrates and hope we killed the mobs in time xD
Quite simply, Paladin. While all 3 can do pig pulls and gain agro, PLD just doesn't have the AoE to help kill the mobs the way WAR/DRK do.
What is it with those joined in 2015 being the most toxic on these forums?

It's not just knowing when it's better to use AoE or Single Target skills, it's that for me the AoE "rotation" is extremely boring since it's just spamming one button and even that can only last so long before I have to fall back into single target attacks that I have to throttle to accomodate for the fact that I have no TP.For each DPS class, there's a cut off for when AoE rotation is a DPS gain over your single target rotation. I've noticed a lot of melees don't seem to know their rotations for large pulls or know when it's a gain and when it's still a loss. The key difference is melee have no long term sustainable AoE damage, unlike classes like black mage and summoner. It's also fairly pointless to do AoE rotation in most cases of melee if both melee are not using AoE rotation (or the one has that much better gear that it didn't even matter).
Imagine if we had that kind of grind back? A player can dream~
