There's a large number of people who tend to act out and make unwise decisions when PotD runs aren't going as fast they'd like. They're usually just inpatient, but I've ran into a few who became malicious when asked not to run off all over the place without the group. If anyone saw my posts earlier about the BRD from PotD that a tank and myself had to report, he started doing that specifically after I asked him not to run out of range while I was trying to cleanse his status effects. Which I only even bothered speaking up about because I didn't want him to think I wasn't trying to do my job as a healer.

I think everyone goes to PotD for different reasons and the speedruners would ultimately be happier if they went in with fixed parties who all want to clear the floors as fast as possible instead of automatically expecting other people to know. But that's easier said than done.

Rampage actions would probably drive a party in danger with the mob groups and unknown traps, that results in non-efficiency or even failure. Thus "being faster" becomes a ridiculous excuse.

I point out lack of dancing edge, dots or trick attack. As we continue to run through, I add in lack of armor crush, raiton, doton, death blossom, kassatsu, internal release, blood for blood, goad, dream within a dream duality- basically anything not katon, aeolian edge combo, suiton (that gets missed 100% of the dungeon) or huton. I can't even say, "Well, at least they LB'd." (They didn't. >_>)

Well that was painful to read, considering I main NIN. I don't mind the fact there's no Dancing Edge debuff, not a lot of NIN's in DF (That I've encountered anyhow) generally don't put it up.

Even though the reduced slashing resistance can increase the NIN's DPS (and potentially the party's); which, adding the 10% increase dmg to Fuma Shuriken from the poisons, may make it far more ideal to use than Raiton. (Doesn't clip to your DPS either.) But, yeesh, everything else? It almost sounds like the guy hasn't done any of the HW class/jobs quest. Which idunno is better or worse.

Don't all tanks benefit from Dancing Edge? It's a pretty good debuff, and I would think it would be required to keep up at all times for your own DPS, like Disembowl for DRG. I don't play NIN so you can ignore me lol.

I use dancing edge unless there's a warrior in the group.. Then I use it if the warrior doesn't bother using their buff.

Yes, all the tanks use slashing damage.

I was just wondering because not using Dancing Egde when appropriate seems like a huge DPS lose. I can if you want to be a little lazy I guess, but it's more a detriment not using it. Whatevers.

Went into Gubal HM as a BRD, got put with an AST and tank who were obviously a couple, judging by their interactions. Tank pulls all the way to the seal/ gate thing, Healer (in Noct stance) decides this is a good time to DPS... for some reason. They manage to clutch heal the tank in time and keep them alive, but between their obsession with DPSing and focusing on the tank, me and the other DPS eventually die to the unavoidable AOEs going out because it appears we did not feature on their "to heal" list. As we respawned back, I said "wow healer, ur gr8." They responded with "no heals for you until you apologise."

On an entirely unrelated note, I learned you can indeed survive Gubal HM with just Second Wind as a DPS!

Yeah it is, especially for harder content like extreme's or raids where I generally use it more (I tend not to do it in synced content, yeah yeah I know. Still not a excuse, especially being fully aware of its use.); it just hurts the party's DPS not too.

Still if it bothers you that much, I promise to be more less discriminate with my usage of Dancing Edge and play my class at 110% instead of 95% for 60% of all content from now on. (And I say this with no snark.) At least I get to see its flashiness more often, can't go wrong with more red

Sorry if it seemed like I was criticizing you. xD I wasn't. We can all be lazy. It's not like not using DE will kill your team.
