Whatever animalistic race we will get it will be a slightly different Miqo te. Devs already said Japanese players do not like beastly looking races and they making them similar because they will not have to tweak the armor sets to fit on them. Look the AuRa concept and how AuRa ended up. I prefer we won't get any new race. I still have the sense that AuRa didn't blend very well with Eorzea. You don't see many of them as NPCs we don't see their villages or their culture and lore too much. They explained this by making them an "outsider" race but this will not work very well if they do this again. I still prefer more character customisation on the current races rather than a half baked new race.

Give the little wings for ears, feathery beards and eyebrows, colored patterns and wild skin tones, different tail styles reflecting different kinds of birds. UNGH IT WOULD BE SO GOOD!

Nevertheless, I dont agree on your second part. If I remember right, then Au Ra come from the other continent, which should be Doma. As we got through the main story, the first Au Ra we met was Yugiri. And I believe, Au Ra's still live in the "kingdom" of Doma.

And to this thread, I want something like Viera. I'm done playing all over Miqo'te. I want something else which is sleek (fitting for classes like Bard), but doesnt look so serious and evil (like Au Ra Male Faces). And we all know Roegadyn and Elezen are already the far unused race ever.

I tend to always go for the non-human races in games. Playing a human is too plain and boring imo.
Would love a "real" beast race or non-human. But I know that Orcs and such might not fit in as a playable race.

Sadly this will most likely never happen. Good thing there are other games that do.
If only SE could break loose from the "asians don't like it so we won't do it" mentality. FFXIV is a world wide MMO with players that like all kinds of different things.
Adding multiple options, even those that you yourself might not like, could bring more players to play the game.

And then we have the technical issues with refitting all existing gear to the new models. Add completely new hairstyles unique for the new beast races. Since the old ones would most likely not fit well with the models, and more.
It's alot of work that I think they would rather avoid if they can, and they can.

Even better would be Sliders for parts of the body like hips, shoulders etc.

-Au'Ra Horns should not be locked to faces.
-All races should have all options available regardless of clan (looking at you, Miqo'te and Lalafell eye types)
-Highlanders should have the option to have eyebrows.

Even if they only opened up all the unique face features so all faces could use it would make a big difference.

I mean, I don't think we really need viera or anything but every suggestion I've seen in this thread has been horrible (I only read the first 3 pages, though)
Ugly beast races may not ruin the game of course, but seeing the absolute freak show that World of Warcraft looks like? Where everyone is ugly ugly ugly? I really value the aesthetic of this game as it is. It's one of the things that makes the game enjoyable to me so having hordes of ugly beast races walking around like Ronso or GOD FORBID pandaren of all the ridiculous fucking things would impact on my enjoyment of the game.

Not that I think everyone should listen to ONLY ME, or anything. But I really hope that never happens.
