That's the point of a tier list. A PLD who is able to optimize the potential of their job can carry harder than most other jobs in the game. Sure, sometimes we get terrible teammates, but a consistently opitimized PLD will climb farther than those on the tiers below it.
That's true, but there really is a limit on how far you can carry as Pld because their support is so diversified. It's kind of a double edged sword. Pld's support extends almost evenly to both Dps and healers; however, that also means that they suffer equally if either or both roles are lacking. The matchmaking only made that worse in the last two seasons, as the higher you climbed the more likely it was for a disproportionate "balancing" of players across the teams. It wasn't uncommon for Pld's to climb up to silver or gold, only to go on consecutive losing streaks with the same healers, dps, or both. It's one of the reasons a lot more tanks tend to solo-queue as War.That's the point of a tier list. That said, the matchmaking has (supposedly) been adjusted this season, so maybe it won't make quite so profound a difference in the deficiencies that a Pld potentially has to cover for. We'll have to wait a bit more in the season to find out how things shake out.
