Gritty realism went out the window with flying hamsters with pom-poms of their heads, if I want a more realistic take on fantasy I play another game.

Gritty realism is not Final Fantasy and not this game's aesthetic - thank goodness. I absolutely loathe gritty realism in games and specifically select games to avoid it. There are huge numbers of games that are gritty and realistic, lots and lots of RPGs take that route. It's just not a route I want to follow.

I didn't read the entire OP because I was afraid of the spoilers (haven't done 3.4 storyline yet), but my answer is "NO".
I value how my character looks, and SE forcing a change of that on me would seriously piss me off.
I was already fairly grumpy when the anniversary event forced me to wear that ugly summer event armor again instead of just displaying me in whatever garb I wanted to wear for those cutscenes..
A permanent scar or injury would be absolutely terribe.

I disagree with the concept of forcing the change on the player--it should be an entirely optional thing. That said, I would appreciate more varied options when it comes to scars, as my Fem-Ra has the enormous total of 0 options for them. In particular I'd like a scar to put over my character's dead eye.

Something like Battle Wounds gained from defeating X content would be interesting, it would be a unique way of showing off the "trophy" of defeating the content.

I'd rather see more options for this sort of thing in the CC, instead of foisted on us without our consent.

Always it is optional of course. More customization options for sure. But, put it yes or yes without let you choosee, nope. Customization and appearance of character should be only a thing done by you, not by the game.

No thank you, I made my character the way I wanted it and I do not want to see it get marked up or losing limbs. If it was optional fine, those who like can do it. I will pass.

I'd love if you could unlock aesthetician options for scars at certain points in the story. Au Ra don't have any scar options, even though Xaela lore says they're a warlike people

Plainly put: If I wanted my characters to have scars, I'd have given them scars.

I'm all for unlocking the options at the aesthetician via battle achievements! But yeah, I'd rather not get random scars because I have to go through a quest my character wouldn't even participate in just because content I would like to play is locked behind it.

I wouldn't mind some more customization for the body, maybe not just scars and such... But I suppose it could be a start.

Definetly would be against it being forced onto people, but if you could add and remove them at the aesthetician or something like that it could be nice.
