It can be as powerful, just not more powerful. Always a step behind, until there aren't any more steps to come, then it catches up. I think it ends on 275 before the expansion is released, just like Zodiac Zeta reached the same 135 as Dreadwyrm.
Goodness gracious! Every aspect of Savage is getting hate O.O

Yes, Alexandrian Weapons are not only ugly, but also in general bad. And the Relic should reach the i275 by the end of the quest to leave them in the same power level just, taking 10 times more effort for a somewhat (insignificant numbers really) better stats.
We have said it enough times in the forums already, reward structure in FFXIV has to change, a lot. Hardest content should reward best things, period.
I actually think its contrived. I have a hard time believing that the battle team is completely clueless as to the weightings of the sub stats (as shown by the fairly intelligent secondary placement in Midas). The minor reason for shit stats is partly balance (to ensure certain classes don't scale completely ahead of the pack for a tier) and the main reason is to give people incentive to actually do the 275 relic. If all the 275 was ideal secondaries, no one would touch whatever grind the 275 is thus defeating its purpose of reviving dead content.
We don't know final relic will be 275, I mentioned it already but Yoshi does not want relics to be as powerful as final tier weapons which is why relic was 240 and Midan was 245.I actually think its contrived. Yoshi didn't want Braves being as strong as raid gear either. And yet both ended up at i135 at the end. So far 3.0 has been an almost paint-by-numbers sequel to 2.0, which is why the predictions for an i275 final step to the relic is likely.

This is the last tier before the expansion. Who cares if relic is BiS or not... Now the relic is i240, the Alex weapon is i275...
BiS weapon will be garbage once we will reach lvl 65 (assuming the same as 2.5->3.0)...

Creator Savage weapons are also going to be the highest ilevel weapons in the game for quite some time, potentially until [/i]atleast[/i] 3.45 or maybe even longer. We don't have a set plan for just how soon Anima weapons will get to 270, or what the quests will entail. All raid gear is the best for a set time period, and this is just history repeating itself.

Loving that skill speed det spear... so great I love it. Why you do this SE![]()
Yoshi-P has never said anything about wanting raid weapons to always be better than the Relic/Anima Weapons. What was has been said was that the i210 step of the relic step was incredibly time consuming because they made the weapons equal in ilevel to the Unweathered Artifact weapons and Gordian weapons and they overtuned Gordias. Yoshi-P was basically saying that they made multiple mistakes in the first patch cycle about weapon availability.
Anima weapons will likely end up as i275 in 3.55/3.58 to incentivize completion of them rather than have players settle for the much easier to get (likely) i265 Zurvan weapons or the i270 Augmented Shire weapons.
