Yokai Event

I'm currently taking a break from FFXIV because of that terrible Yokai event. I had 29/30 medals for the last weapon and the final medal refuses to drop for almost an hour so I missed everything.

If they cannot create content that doesn't have RNG and grinding, I don't think this game has any potential to become entertaining in the future.

you had over a month to do it. If you didn't like it after a day. you could have stopped.

People in my FC did the hole event in 10 days. While keeping up with other things. The fact that people waiting till the last day to go ooo shit I want this and bitch that it took so much time. Where not wize about it.


My wife and I got the 30/30/30 ones 2nd. While outer. It took 2 days because the fates were up 100% of the time.

Got last 45 medals on Sunday. I hope they don't have another fate grinding event again for a long long long time. Or hopefully never. I didn't want all the weapons but I wanted the shiny mount. And at least they give you a cutscene for the determination

Yeah, hence I just skipped finishing it. But for completionists, it's a nightmare missing out on something that's there, in front of you. In the end, I gave up, and it made me feel bad.

Am I the only person here that did this event sparingly?

First few medals were simple since the amount needed was small, but once the amount started getting larger, I just gave myself a quota a day, even with my bad luck in drops I was able to finish in a pretty good amount of time, and had time to do other things.

Well, not that I raid or anything else. Cap tomes, do weeklies and then all free time xD

Not only that, but the mount itself changes slighty. I was hoping it would have at lease mount music from Yokai, but nooooo...

Meh, I at least got Jibanyan, and Blizzaria, so I am happy.

I'm at least proud that I got all of the minions. I only got three of the weapons but they were all kind of meh anyway, plus the grind was NOT WORTH IT.

Whew! I was going to be worried that this was a "EXTEND THE EVENT FOR ANOTHER X DAYS" but it, thankfully, wasn't. I will mirror the sentiment that this event was pretty awful. More specifically the farming FATEs for the random chance of possibly getting one of the legendary medals. I know I did this to sate the completionist/ collector in me but in the grand scheme of things, I have no idea why I bothered. The weapons are stowed away in the armoire, until the end of days. I got the two mounts from this event that I will never use (the mounts are ugly as eff). And this I managed even with taking a break to whet my appetite on Legion's launch. I have zero interest in anything Yokai Watch. The games and the series looks so lame to me.

I'd say what made the event particularly awful wasn't just the RNG of the medal drop rate, but the fact that it also came with an INCREASE in required medals for every item you procured, making the grind requirement even worse the further you progressed.

It was malicious design at its best.

I got my Scooty Puff Sr just on the last day. And I picked up Fleshy Souls to boot. I quite enjoy this series.
