The point of this thread is that it is a piece of clothing... virtual going for eighteen dollars. Not even a premium costume in Street fighter costs that much. Never have I mentioned it is too expensive FOR ME. I am talking about VALUE.

Everyone has their own opinion on what the value it is to them. All those who have bought it thought it was a good value.
If it is too much for you then don't buy it.

While value is subjective... I will never defend the pricing of this item as it is ridiculous. Maybe on a Christmas sale I'll consider it if it is 3 dollars but right now this is a huge slap in the face.

Clothing that can be still china exclusive if SE wanted

Don't quote me on this, but I believe it was around $22-25 after converting to USD. Went to double check but it's not being sold on the site anymore, so it's likely a limited time item. On the plus side, the Chinese players can purchase promotional items without going through the hassle of magazines or anime stores.
Thank's - and I agree about purchasing promotional items. More on that at the end.Don't quote me on this, but I believe it was around $22-25 after converting to USD. I asked about the cost to Chinese gamers because there is no way that SE would give an item for free that they charged for in the original market. So the OP posting and calling for that to happen is useless, especially as we seem to have received the item with a discount.
As for purchasing promotional items, I have no problem with promotional items and the promotions themselves being timed exclusives. but say 3 months after the promotion has ended, put the promo items on the MogStation. That way if you are able to participate in the promotion, you gain the item, and if not, you can buy the item after the promotion concludes. Just please, please, please, please stop selling stuff like this as character specific items, they should be for the entire service account instead of a single character.
Everything?
Not only does it appear to be cheaper than the Chinese original, but as some in this topic have pointed out premium outfits in other games have cost far more.

I see why they would charge higher prices for the Chinese and Korean markets, as FFXIV is performing below expectations in that market as it's being dominated by giants such as LoL and Overwatch leaving little to no room for MMORPGs. Even one of the largest MMORPGs in the West, WoW, holds a measly 2% active users in SK from their total users with FFXIV holding 0.32%. I'm surprised FFXIV is even running in Korea, I don't have any numbers on the Chinese version but SE did say they it was under performing. This isn't directed at Kosmos, but comparing it to a version that needs the extra revenue to survive to an MMORPG that's the 2nd/3rd most popular MMORPG in the West is a little different.Thank's - and I agree about purchasing promotional items. I don't see promotional items releasing 3 months after the promotion as people would wait it out, but 1-2 years seems fine to me. I feel we got promotions because it would be unfair for Japanese players if were able to to outright buy it, though every promotion apart from the North America was substantially worse. I'd prefer we didn't get any more promotional items until they sorted out something with a major business in each region the game is available for sale (not sure why they couldn't do Amazon for every region it's available).

In todays CNY to USD exchange rates it cost 19 USD or so. When I bought it on the Chinese version of the game when it was released I think it would have been around $16 USD. The item as I stated earlier cost 12800 coupons which is 128 CNY. I will state that I would expect the Chinese mall to be more expensive than the NA Mogstation since as I also said earlier in the thread that subscriptions there unless you play every single day for 5hrs is cheaper by a lot as it is around 10 cents (closer to 9 cents now) USD per 1hr of play (no monthly sub only hourly). I really do not care about the price as I am someone who will buy if I want something and I see it as worth the price paid but facts are that the Chinese mall on every single other item is more expensive so this is even a shock to me as I expected it based on other items between the chinese mall and the mogstation to be closer to around 10-12.
