Her being just a PLD would make absolutely no sense at this point in the game, so near fan-fest. 2.4 also teased a new class/job (rogue/ninja) and I don't think the devs would randomly make Alisae a shield less PLD. As she said in the rising stones, she's been studying all types of magic. And apparently if you observe her in the fight, she casts Runic. Celes in FF6 casts runic. A mystic knight. That's just another hint.

Yeah cause they would totally create new battle animations for only that short fight. Remember, Yugiri only fought in cutscenes till we got ninja so even she didn't use animations before they were available to the player.

Thancred in ARR was a Rogue, yet used the Paladin moveset before they actually added Rogue/Ninja into the game.

I think Mystic Knight is ruled out because you see the whm of darkness cast enfire. I think has her own unique job exclusive to ff14.

One thing to keep in mind is that Thancred was the same. He played different classes/jobs prior to showing his rogue/ninja skills. Its more than likely that Red Mage can use paladin magicks cause Paladin Magick tends to lean toward White Magic. That and like others said, what if what she use in-game was in-fact an lb3? That is definitely not paladin LB3 and the sword looks more like a Rapier than a normal Paladin sword.

To add to this, her ability to take hits and fight on front line as a tank doesn't seem likely with the hits shes been taking in 3.4 . She Definitely seems more like a Red Mage. Thats just my opinion though.

2.4 didn't tease a new job, it full on released one. Rogue/Ninja was teased in 2.2.

You forget one key quirk with battle animations.

All weapons that lack unique battle animations default to the GLD/PLD stance and animations. This includes instances of Thancred before going full rougue, and every crafting and gathering job. You also have an Alchemist aid you in a THM fight who uses GLD animations, an another example.

Basically, her using the PLD stance doesn't confirm or deconfirm anything.
