It's priced that way being a promotional item. Also its priced that way because they KNOW people would buy it. Probably the differenc ein projected amount of people buying it if it were cheaper are not enough to warrant a lower price.

I will pay 60$ per mog station item if it means SE will keep putting out large amounts of content per patch. I want to support this game as much as possible, until/if it becomes pay to win.
Seriously... Look at FF14 compared to SWTOR. SWOTR expansions are TINY compared to FF14's patches. We are getting a lot for the price of our subs. SWTOR charges the crap out of players. SWTOR charges for almost everything, including but not limited to mounting while running, hiding your hat, EXTRA QUICK BARS, etc. Yes, SWTOR charges a sub for the ability to mount while running.
SE could be charging the crap out of us for everything in the game just like BW does -- but they don't. I honestly feel very lucky and happy to play this game. I hope it continues to run this way. I feel that the FF14 staff have morals and care about their playerbase and reputation. Maybe I'm wrong but it's the impression I get.

In that case then this game needs to go F2P so we can buy all the cosmetics and so on.
There, now you're shelling out hundreds for a costume via RNG and all sorts of stuff.
You just gave SE $100 for a rainbow poncho!
I just think they need to find time to make better events and push these
things in here...maybe like Chinese New Year, the outfits coulda been in it.
Would of been a lot more fair and possibly fun for everyone.

That's a bit extreme and I'm not sure I understand your point.
My point was that we get a lot for our sub already, and that I'm happy to pay extra for mog station items to help the game out.

I never understood the 'I will pay x amount if they keep pushing x content!"
Not to be negative, but you know, all the content we've been getting is either rehashed in some way, or a bust, or rushed.
So I dunno, I kinda wish our money was spent on a wee bit better...also with all these subs, I am sure they aren't
really pressing for cash. .__.; Saying you'll spend $60 on a sub-based game is kinda a lot...
I really hope they don't see what you wrote. XD
Rehashed? Which content is rehashed? Either way I've enjoyed everything in this patch so far.I never understood the 'I will pay x amount if they keep pushing x content!"

I don't think there's any proof that the cash shop funds are going towards XIV. I would assume it did but I hear a lot of rumors that the cash is going towards XV, KH3, and VIIRemake.
Baseless of course but my point is, we don't know for sure the money's going toward XIV, which I hope it does.
Thing is, SE is a private company, so money is all internal, and gets shuffled to where its needed. Sales from XV will help fund XIV, sales from XIV will help fund VIIR, and sales from KH3 will help fund Dragon Quest.I don't think there's any proof that the cash shop funds are going towards XIV. I suppose that's true enough.
I'm not against the cash shop, I should add. I just want XIV to be given more love ;'<
While this is true it's also not really true to say money ever goes "Into" or "Out" of FFXIV. They have a set budget every year and that's what they use. Unless subscriptions are flagging and they need to pull some emergency funds the "Amazing" sales of any of Square Enix's franchises aren't going to help FFXIV in any obtuse way, they will skim by as small a budget as they feel they can manage and as long as players are willing to throw money at them for things on the cash shop they will in all likelihood factor that into the next budget. Wether that means more team members or just more slack on them wanting to really retain subscribers is a whole other story.
