Reminder On What Was Actually Said Regarding PS3 Support After 3.0

PS3 support will be terminated at one point that's a fact. We just don't know when. My personal opinion is the sooner the better. PS4 is dirty cheap for those who find PC expensive. Heck you can even buy a second hand PS4 for really low price. PS3 is holding the game back and that's according to Yoshi himself hence the drop of support at some point. In a recent French review he said we have to wait for an announcement on when this will happen and he can't comment anything more about this now.
But yes. PS4 Pro is coming and needs to be properly supported. Also if talks with M$ comes to fruition then they also have to Support XONE and Xbox Scorpio next year. It makes sense they will have to drop support of PS3. Anyways. It will happen it's just matter of time.

as a person that's on ps4, that's getting the pro. no, theres no reason to drop ps4. Also Xbox might not even get ffxiv.

Even if they were insane enough to want to, they wouldn't be allowed to offer just a PS4 Pro version. Sony is adamant about their rule that there be no such thing as a PS4 Pro game. They're PS4 games. It's not another platform generation, just a new model of PS4.

What he actually said was that if there comes such a time when PS3 is holding the game back, that's when they'd drop support. That won't happen until they're ready to expand their development team enough to produce far more expansive features than they've been willing to tackle so far.

This is false as DCUO was open to the idea but Microsoft said no. Now Dcuo players on Xbox play on their own server and have to pay for xbl on top of a MMO subscription for DCUO.

Microsoft still want SE to have servers for xbox alone, not gonna happen

As for the whole PS3 limitations, it is not that SE do not want to support players who maybe cannot get a PS4 but it is for the future of the game that PS3 needs to eventually be dropped.
Some features just cannot be included, even the new crossbar menu this patch, PS3 is unable to have it

Im playing that game on PS3 till the support ends <,< And I hope it NEVER ends! Charackters looks terrible thin, UNattractive on PS4... no Screensize option too... (but PC have it)

ALL my other PS4 games there people look normal proportioned! Why not in FF14(PS4) too...?
I played that game like 10mins on my PS4 and was like "ew... so thin... like hungry Models"(I dislike super thin models) and continued on my ps3, because of option screen "4:3" on a 16:9 TV everyone looks way more normal weight!
I dont care if the graphics are super duper nice!

If they ever drop PS3 support I'll quit the sub/game too <.<

DCUO was released in Xbox before MS changed their police. ^^

PS3 does have one big advantage over PS4. Ever since switching over, I've missed PS3's ability to take action screenshots. (When you click the "screenshot" button on PS4 it will wait a second or two before deciding to take a picture. It's good enough for static pictures like pretty scenery or something, but useless for catching a specific action.)

I dont think Se will drop support to PS3 and somehow a medium playrbase just to add more and bigger fail-zergs like The Hunt or Diadem. Zergs for dumb people. PS3 can hold any 24 players raid and prolly even 40 so i dont see the reason to drop it. In LA is still REALLY popular cuz PS4 is expensive and games so far are not so impresive. MMOs like WoW keep their games avalabile for the bigger playerbase posible with minimal pc requirments (like FFXIV does atm) and i dont think thats going to change soon.

An MMO losing customers/players daily will not risk to lose more by making the game more expensive or dificult to jump in.
