I was wondering, since usually they don't reveal items in the new patch, what if the reason for this that the egi-glamour is crafted and as such they are hiding it to avoid market inflation?

Could be, however I would think that it would still be mentioned even if the recipes were not revealed. They do this for gear, stating that new items will be added and providing some pictures without revealing specifics.

Egi glamours would be an entirely new system that many players have been anticipating for quite some time. You would think that it would have at least some form recognition within the preliminary notes if they intended on implementing it this patch. There's nothing.

People are asking for it because the devs flat-out said they won't design new pet playstyles for SMN because they'd hate to have to balance them; the egi glamour is their compromise for variety for SMNs.

That's why people who know about this/understand their stance have stopped barking-up the "new properly made egis" tree and constantly ask about the glamour.

EDIT: Oh, in hindsight re-reading you meant new pet designs of existing egis? Still asking for too much.

While being a reason too, the main argument was because they dont like to give SMN a new skill with each patch and all other jobs dont get anything!
Thats why we just have 3 Egis... The idea to glamour them was born because players wished to use carbuncle while being SMN.

Well, the Egis we have aren't built around the element so much as the role. Ifrit is a melee DPS, Garuda is a ranged DPS, and Titan is a tank.

What the Glamours will do is replace the look and animations in the same way as the original Egis do to the Carbuncles.

So, for example, now Ifrit looks like Leviathan and is slamming his tail at enemies up close. Titan is now a Shiva and all the crystal attacks are ice, etc.

I never understood why people even want glamours for the egis, what's wrong with the ones we have?
I don't see SCH complaining that he doesn't have 15 different fairy looks, or MCH that his drone does not have a wide variety of different appearances...
I don't see BLMs asking SE to give them the option to make their Blizzard 4 appear as a giant ball of water instead because they are sick of looking at ice.
Always bothered me why it was considered to be okay for SMN to ask for that,...

....but I'll be so glad if they finally add it now just because it will stop people from asking for it

Well, I assume some people are equally annoyed about my eternal fight for a glamour catalouge...
And will be so glad when people finally shut up about it!....oh wait, that will probably never happen -.-
