Queued on my PLD for main story roulette and got Castrum last night, and wow was that run a struggle. During every pull the other PLD’s HP is hanging by a thread because the healers are healing at the very last second even though they have more than enough time to heal beforehand (both of them weren’t DPSing). The PLD WAS using cds and had Ironworks gear, and I had to cover him when I could so he didn’t have to pop Hallowed Ground. Didn’t matter though because eventually we both had to use Hallowed Ground, and more than once might I add. The pulls we were doing were significantly smaller than what groups do nowadays, so I figured there would be no problems. Totally wrong. :| We get to the part with the pumps you interact with, and we’re only fighting the mobs that are in that area. MT dies because he didn’t get any heals, and then when I take over I almost die because of the same situation. Hallowed Ground saved me, but this happened next:



I'll just say as a WHM main, they were not very good...

They were so busy fighting with each other that they not only let the MT die on the next boss, but let me die when I was trying to pick up the boss with all of the adds on me as well. The first boss was similar; the MT only had the boss on him while I picked up all the adds, and he was STILL dying.

We’re pretty much limping through the rest of the dungeon because these healers are more focused on insulting each other than actually healing us. It was a miracle that both myself and the other PLD made it out alive in the end.

Very simple complaint from my DF experience today.

I went into Guildhest roulette to get my BLM up on my Behemoth alt, and it's Hero on the Halfshell. Should be quick and easy, right? You would think...

So the Gil Turtle is just being whacked to death by the LNC and the DRK, yes... someone who has hit 50 and done the entire MSQ... they wailed on it, and did not bother to move it to the smoke trap as soon as it was lit (And it says, in a large text box, don't attack it, take it to the trap, the guy who wants the turtle wants it alive).

So yeah, I actually found out, that the trap does not stay lit for the entirety of the Guildhest... so the LNC ends up wailing on it at >1% HP and it dies. We fail the Guildhest.

Great, now I have to spend another 10 minutes queuing up for Guildhest roulette again...

as a mentor myself, thats my biggest ingame pet peeve: Mentors who abuse folks like that. Sorry you had to witness that.

Whenever I see a mentor treat someone badly, I tell them in group chat how you can report a Mentor and they can pull the chat files. It is absolutely amazing how fast the bitter treatment stops.

People hate to lose their little "look at me crown."

Got seph normal as Ast and about halfway through the fight I didn't get out of an aoe and died... Np the other healer will Rez me... Nope the whm never even tries to raise me. After the whole fight the excus was... "Don't have swiftcast yet".

Yeah, I don't see what's the big deal staying in the run for extra 10 mins. They get more experience too anyways.

I hate it when mentors do that, more so when they actually bully those with sprout status. We all started there and even without those leaf icons, we're all still learning. As a mentor, I'm not ashamed to admit I can learn more as a healer/DPS/tank. I even sometimes ask my boyfriend to help me tank better.

Just got vote kicked from Labyrinth of the Ancients playing as DRG...

DRG boots dropped, the other DRG asked if he could have them, I said no because I want them too - which I am well in my rights to do. I was in vocal chat with two friends and they said a vote kick was initiated immediately after I won the roll for the boots.

Seconds later I'm sitting in Mist...

I reported to a GM but I doubt anything will come of it... this game really pisses me off sometimes.

Talking about Sastasha NM as a sprout tank! I recently reached that point on my alt, a level 18 mrd, nothing else leveled, sprout icon - its obviously the first time for this character. I get paired with a german ast and nin (friends, I suppose) and another sproutling (acn, maybe?).
The ninja starts running ahead when we reach the part with the giant shells, to kill those instead of finishing the normal mobs first, so thats all up to the acn, since the healer isnt helping at all. In the big room where you have to get the keys, he decides to pull the two pirates guarding the door to us and I ask him not to pull things, because I'm going to do it soon enough - it was a stupid thing to do, we were still fighting two mobs and why pull more when you dont have aoe anyways? Since I dont have flash yet, I'm also low on TP. He instantly starts telling me how this is a level 16 dungeon and how hes oh sooo bored and wants to get it over fast - mind you, I already skipped all the extra rooms and if you want it faster, ask your ast-friend to dps, dont do useless, extra pulls.

I left the dungeon a bit grumpy - a level 16 dungeon is no excuse to be rude and making a sprout-tank jobs harder is such a dick move. We need more tanks and this isnt excatly encouraging behavior... (I will admit: I actually decided on mrd to see how people are going to treat a sprout tank - sadly, this is what I expected)

Stories from my alts big sis:

Did Weeping City twice this week, both runs were... interesting.
First run; on paladin: Besides my healers letting me die all the time it doesnt get interesting until we reach LadyHair. She manages to kill everyone except myself, another melee dps in my group and a second paladin. Since shes at 7% we keep going, healing each other with clemency, etc. etc. At some point the melee dps dies aswell, so the last 4% are a really slow battle performed by two paladins - I'm so glad we made it, I would have felt really bad if we wasted everyones time...

Second run: I'm on scholar this time (since I just got reminded that you have to be a healer yourself if you want a decent healer) and we have that french bard&whm. The bard keeps killing themself during the first boss (Dont stand in the webs, children, its hurting you!) and disconnects afterwards - so as soon as we can, we vote kick them. I'm guessing now that the whm was a friend of them becausem from now on I'm basically solo-healing the fight, which sucks when you're on scholar and expect some aoe-heals from your whm-buddy since yours suck. Needless to say that they also didnt knew how esuna worked and that the only reason I didnt tried to kick the whm aswell was that I suspected they wanted excatly that...

I just got out of the worst Pharos NM since that dungeon was released - with me are three level 60 randoms from DF. I want to highlight that french dragoon: ALL classes on 60, wearing one tank (with piety materia...) and one bard (with parry melded?!) ring, caster necklace and healing bracelet. Only the earrings are actually matching his class - please not that all jewls were ilvl220 or higher. He keeps using sprint and has never heard of his perma-buff (heavy thrust, I guess its called?) - again: ALL CLASSES ON 60!

We wipe three times at the first boss, because that dragoon cant stand out of the orange shit either and also consideres throwing spears and using his poledance-AoE on single mobs the best way to kill them. We proceed slowly, with me asking him again and again to step his game up... just... just show me that you know how the basicis of your class are working ;_;
He doesnt.

We get to the Siren and the healer, who seemed okay-ish until that point, has no clue how to prevent people from getting confused... DPS also has to be begged several times to free bound people (again: ALL of them were on level 60 - I dont expect them to have every dungeon memorized but I do expect a more general understanding of the game). We make it, somehow. Took 40 minutes, without even using the LB once...
