The first time I saw his first form I immediately thought of FF6's Alexander. That could be a pun to merge all past Alexanders for his ability to manipulate time.
Shame though he lost his holy attribute - that's what defined the summon for me

I'm not entirely sure what this would imply (again, assuming that this indeed Alex in some degree) but I thought it was an interesting observation at least.

Not just different; human! If you pay attention you see he has fingers and looks more like a person wearing armor than a mechanical construct. If I were to guess either Mide's lover or our most hated goblin leader will merge with the primal somehow and we'll start the fight by facing a hybrid of some kind. While everyone is curious as to the MSQ's significance, has it been brought up at all that Alexander looks totally different when he's first encountered in A12 (assuming that's Alexander at all, of course)?

He'll most likely keep his divine Holy Judgement. There was an Alexander Egi(?) with angel wings, after all.
In fact, I'm willing to believe that winged 'Egi' is actually this.
He only appeared big because he was floating way above the arena.

Hmm, I wonder about that... Y'shtola and Flancred completely lost their original outfits, so they needed replacements straight away... Yda and Papalymo still have parts of theirs, I could see some of the alterations being more to fit in than anything else... I wouldn't be too surprised if, upon returning to us, they put their old gear back on before Tataru makes them something new... They actually seem fairly capable of just returning to us, they're just investigating the Masks at the moment... I kinda expect them to just show up, rather than us actively finding them...
Seems more like a cutscene the more I look at it, though... Come to think of it... Could that be the "power" Masky McMaskface mentions? Papalymo would seem to have been holding onto Tupsimati, it's possible they took it off him...

But, wasn't Tupsimati in the hands of Minfilia when she got "abducted" by Hydaelyn ?
It's missing since this event, and we heared nothing of someone breaking in the rising stone during it's occupation by the Braves.
Nah. We haven't seen Tupsimati since Nabriales abducted Minfilia. It was used to kill Nabriales.
It would be predictable if he was Ilberd, yes, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. We need to resolve the Ilberd thing at some point. He's still running around out there somewhere and I won't be comfortable until he's dealt with.A fair point. Then again, him being a new Ysayle type character would be the least predictable move as everyone beside me seems convinced that the masked guy is Ilberd. Of course when I say "like Ysayle" I don't mean that her entire arc should be copied. As I mentioned he could be anything from a hero to a straight up villain. Hell, he could be the main villain of 3.0. We are pretty short on cool villains. An odd situation for a final fantasy game.(I'm a big Raubahn/Nanamo fan so the fact his betrayal nearly took out both of them makes me want him really dead >.>)
I want 5 v 5 against the WoD. Our team should be:
Warrior of Light (player character)
Thancred
Y'shtola
Alphinaud
Aymeric
Alisaie is still injured so she won't join in until later.
Speaking of patch cycles does anyone remember when Heavensward was announced? Assuming Heavensward follows the same cycle as ARR we only have 3.5 and 3.55 left, yet I don't think they've said anything about the next expansion beyond vague generalities.
