Squadrons are a let down for now

I would rather they hold back content until it is 100% finished. The Squadrons should have released when we were able to take them with us into dungeons because now it just another venture which isn't needed right now. It's like Diadem they are implementing small changes now and rest later but I would prefer if it came together. Right now it just seems incomplete and i'm not a fan of incomplete content.

Diadem is likely why they are going this route. LoV and Diadem were such failures, they seem to have taken the approach of testing new content in smaller bunches and seeing what the reception is. If people aren't doing it, they can move on to something else. If not, they can build from it knowing they aren't wasting their time doing so.

People wouldn't be upset if this was the first time they half arsed content releases only to ditch them to the wayside for several patch cycles. So many systems in the game sit around half done moldering awaiting the update that makes them what they should have been at initial release.

Don't get all high and mighty on people who expect a competent product to be launched with major patch cycles. So far the Dev team has made a pretty bad habit of over promising and under-delivering and then just ditching the product to move on to something else they will half-finish before handing to players.

Am I the only person who doesn't want to replace every other person in the game with NPCs?

I have spent more of my life in the DF queue than I ever care to imagine.

I have had more runs go bad to the point that I quit and eat the penalty or kick others and want nothing more than to reach through my monitor and strangle the life out of my party members for one reason or another.

Even with all of that, I hope to never see the day that we replace people with NPCs for completing content that was intended for multiplayer parties. At that point I might as well go work on the stack of single player games gathering dust in my living room instead.

What would I like to see?

Create GC related content that is intended for taking your squadron into. Something like hamlet defense. The GC knows the golden bazaar is under seige or attack and you and your squadron are dispatched to defend it. Something like that would get my interest.

I agree with this. As much as DF can be awful sometimes, this is an mmo, I want to play with people not npc's. Just make instances or something for squadrons.

They could have just created Platoon Scenarios every 5 levels where it takes you into a mini dungeon and fight some bosses, get exp, get loot that way they can lvl with you as you continue through HW. As it stands it's not even out people thought this was going to be garrisons just like from WoW but it's not it's ventures that will have some role later the issue we have with the playerbase is they want it NOW.

FF 14 is a pretty entitled community if you ask me PotD came out > People were making forum posts in a temper tantrum tornado like a 5 year old, hell there's even a post saying that someone will quit the game because it exists..really? It's side content same as this, if you're quitting because of the side content that they tweak (including this) I'd ask yourself where is your sub and what do you enjoy? And I get that but this is content that's not even out yet people are already judging this before it even comes out this is all the side content you do before main scenario, dungeons, EX trials, Raids, it's on the lines of Hildebrand something that you don't have to specifically do it should be light hearted where you can spend the course of your time, how small it may be doing it.

I agree with the half baked content but i'll still stand my ground and say that Platoons aren't even out and the community is allover the place with what they want and it's frustrating as there are so many different backgrounds of each individual player. For example: myself I don't care at all for the apartments and aquariums to me it's content they could have developed further for either Platoons or other fixes/tweaks do I want to play with my virtual goldfish? No I really don't, I get people don't have houses and that's the only reason it should exist.

people complain coz theres only so many ways u can bake content , but in the end its still content , and people complaining coz they feel forced to play that content every day :P instead of playing the game with "people", but in real they are bored to hell from the content in general :P and nothing is gonna please them.

lets say diadem had all kind of mini quests in it , not just the first one , but lets say u had randomn follow up quests to get more loot instead of just killing mobs , then people would still complain coz they always get the same quests , or coz the quests repeat to much :P or coz they are to boring or insert whatever thing u want here :P

no content will be ever sufficient for such people :P

edit : (such people play something new for 3-5 hours then they get bored and want something new) :P

Some little known MMO called World of Warcraft did this exact same thing with their even lesser known expansion pack (I hear it went well?) Warlords of Draenor. People loved it.

I think running dungeons is fairly acceptable as that is one of the more monotonous aspects of the game. And by that I mean by the end of the 3 month cycle many are over the current dungeons. However if they were able to raid with you it would be different, of course that would never happen while content is current.
