Yesterday, I hit 35 on my BLM, which means I unlocked Qarn, otherwise known as the Sunken Temple of Derps, or as I like to call it, "Why Has God Forsaken Me."

To give a brief but general idea of my runs so far, here's one conversation from my third group:
Me: Why does the tank keep dyi - ... SCH, your gear.
SCH: My gear is not the problem, it's the tank's fault.
Me: I'm pretty sure it's you.
SCH: And I say it isn't, there is nothing wrong with it.
Me: YOU'RE IN LEVEL 15 ACOLYTE GEAR
    SCH: That's not my problem.
    Me: ???? ???????? ???

And yet somehow that was still less painful than the AST who gave all the Balances and Arrows to the PLD...

SCHs. Please, for the love of the bloody gods, learn how to use your fairies. They are not just there to spam Embrace and sparkle. Selene, apart from Fey Wind, has very situational skills, yes, but she still has uses outside of Fey Wind.

As for Eos, Rouse + Fey Illumination + Whispering Dawn is a ridiculously powerful AoE heal at any level, and it is completely free as far as MP costs go.

Why do so many SCHs just completely ignore their fairies' abilities? What's the damn point of having a fairy out if you're never going to use her to heal? Let's not even get into how useful the post-50 skills are, especially considering that Deployment and Emergency Tactics are also completely free and don't even cost Aetherflow stacks.

There was once that i joined in progress as a bard with a marauder, scholar and an archer.. Marauder couldnt even keep mobs, while scholar's gear is broken as awful as healing physick with only 50-70 points.. It got better when healers pant dropped from coffer and dude swapped gear to lower level ones as low as level 8.. We cleared the duty anyhow..

I frequently don't use deployment tactic because it has narrow radius which in full party with players scattering here and there, it's usually only affect 2-3 players where succor could probably reach 6 players.. So it's pretty much situational depending on the party and the mechanic, if there's stacking mechanic i'll use it of course..

Emergency Tactic.. I'm pretty sure that skill can be considered less useful..

I'm usually in the "afraid to help" category. If I do try, or someone else in my party tries, to give some advice (as civilly as text will allow) to someone who badly needs it, the most common responses I see are silence, or "no one else has a problem with [how I play]". Which I take as a more kindly-worded "stfu, i do what I want", which I also sometimes see. Other times, people get insulted by the implication that they're not perfect. Or something.

It's been extremely uncommon to find someone who is actually receptive to advice and tries to get better at the game.
Bottom line is that people generally don't want your help.
I felt this way really hard in my Expert yesterday.

Story time: I main summoner on my alt (who I guess is my main now, since I do everything on them compared to the char I started with..?), and it's one of my favorite jobs in the game, and while I'm not the best player ever, I feel I do a decent job on the class and know how best to use my toolkit. Seeing summoners who don't put effort into the class kind of irks me.

Cue yesterday's Expert Roulette. I zone in to Hullbreaker HM, playing as bard (which is my more relaxing class to play, wasn't feeling too good so didn't want to struggle to perform 100% on summoner, and I know how to play bard well without stressing on it). My group is made up of a DRK, a WHM, and a SMN..... who had Ifrit out. I kinda shrugged that off, some people prefer him even though he doesn't have Contagion.

We get to the first set of mobs, I do my usual rotation and get some of my dots on every one of the raptors so I have higher proc chance on my oGCD. I notice that despite the fact I'm doing my usual, efficient amount of dps (proc'ing like crazy, Barrage'ing Emp Arrow, Sidewinder spam, etc), the raptors are dying really, REALLY slowly. Then I notice the SMN hasn't put up Shadowflare.. or even used DoTs on any one of the raptors. At all. She was just spamming Painflare for the three aetherflow stacks, then going into Trance and spamming Ruin 3... then continuing to spam Ruin 3 even after Trance is off, i.e. she didn't use Deathflare and she's also burning through her MP on a skill that even with a buff on, does way less damage than me on a low-geared bard. And not spreading DoTs.

At this point I'm going "okay well maybe she's new to the class, she has crap gear". We move on. She continues to not DoT at all, do nothing but spam Ruin 3, burn her mp out, stand there waiting for it to refresh until Aetherflow is up, Aetherflows, Painflare spams, repeats all over again with going into Trance and not even using Deathflare?? Then on the coeurl she tries using Miasma II when she isn't anywhere near it, thus rendering it as useless as a fart bubble. I start getting irritated, because even if someone's new to the class, DoTs and proper Aetherflow stack usage is a staple for summoner's toolkit, yes?? I started realizing how weird it was someone would completely forgo that just to burn their MP on a singletarget skill that doesn't do hardly enough damage for the high MP cost it has off Trance.

I was about to say something to her, but then the WHM afks and I realize, by her and the tank suddenly speaking in party to each other, that these three are all together (would probably explain why the WHM sat there with her thumb up her butt half the time, tbh). And at that point, no matter how calmly I would try to explain to her that she's playing the class completely wrong, I was a bit worried of the negative reaction of not just her, but her two friends too - they were all under-performing, so I guess they didn't give a crap if she was the crappiest summoner to ever crap. I honestly thought about leaving but I didn't want to get locked out of all my roulettes for 30 minutes just because I got stuck with a terrible summoner and her enabling terrible player friends. So I grit my teeth and stuck it out, attempting to make up for the crappy dps we were doing since she wasn't even putting DoTs on anything. I have never had such a hard time on Mistbeard before, good god. I was so happy to get out of that run.

Every time I see a BLM pop Hawk's Eye, I die a little inside. I really want to know why on earth anyone would cross-class that skill for BLM. Admittedly, our choices for cross-class skills are limited in the first place, and the uses for those skills are mostly situational, but the only reason I can think of for using Hawk's Eye is to get around accuracy cap requirements.

Which is stupid, because those only exist in raids, and the buff only lasts for 20/70 seconds. I really don't understand this at all.

Recently did trial roulette and got Nidhogg NM. Ran into a MNK that couldn't keep more than 1 stack of greased lightning before it would drop off. Naturally we failed to meet the dps check and wiped to add phase twice...and naturally, said MNK was the one to start telling us to dps more. Someone mentioned something about the greased lightning issue (and that they were 7th on the aggro list, beating out only a SCH) and they proceeded to do nothing the rest of the fight - literally stood in place, moved around for mechanics but didn't touch the boss. Really left a bad taste in my mouth. Can't stand people who won't admit their mistakes and accept help from others who are trying to help them do better.

Currently leveling an alt character, I went into Dzemael Darkhold for the GC quest.
Party is composed by WHM (me), BLM, NIN and WAR.
BLM is new (technically speaking I was "new" too), immediately our NIN tells him to stay in the purple light.
Of course BLM stays out of it, but being only one person it's not a big deal to heal.
NIN immediately reminds the BLM to stay in the purple, so "it makes the healer's life easier". I admit, there may be truth in this statement, if only the NIN stopped making my life harder by not dodging any telegraphed attack. ^^'

In the end BLM started to join us in the purple light, apologizing, while the NIN continued to happily to eat every attack.

    Please observe the following scene.

    1) The tank's health is that low because he had an intellect helm, a level eight shield, and no accessories.
    2) The tank would cast sprint and jump up and down in circles, which is very dangerous when an enemy has cleave.
    3) Whenever his health would get dangerously low, he would run over to me (with a mob that can cleave) and continue to jump. I normally let tanks' health get that low in lower level dungeons because Benefic/Essential Dignity can heal them up to full.
    4) The ninja tanked this boss while the actual tank ran off to kill an add. The tank died during the slime boss and the ninja ended up having to tank that as well because the tank released his body while I was about to raise him. She did pretty well, actually.

My girlfriend has been complaining about similar things in the DF recently as well. I don't think she's had a day this week where something hasn't happened, and she's normally pretty positive.

Queued for Trial Roulette as Ninja. My gear is good, but my weapon is still pretty low quality.

Got Nidhogg. First time there as a DPS.

I think I was actually doing pretty well. Then the boss was at 10% HP. Limit gauge just hit 3.
Only other single target Limit Break DPS in party was 1 dragoon.

(not sure if Blood for Blood and Trick Attack affect limit break damage, but just in case...)
So I used Blood for Blood and Trick Attack and proceeded to cast Level 3 Limit Break for my first time as Ninja! I was so excited.

And then those dark circles appeared right under where I was.
    "That's okay! I'll make it!" I thought.

And just as Limit break finishes, I die.
The Limit Break Animation happens, but there is no damage...

    I was raised and apologized.
And I still got a few comms in the end.

    So, so sorry!
