Please don't listen to trolls and spammers, you are a good person deserved of happiness. What you have gained and accomplished over the last year getting to 50 will ALWAYS be with you! No one can take away that experience. Don't worry about what others do or if they are pl, or using cheats, play the game the way YOU want to, if you desire challenge and hard methods of leveling that can be accomplished, don't worry about how quickly others can get there, just focus on YOU!

This is a game.

I'm not saying lv 1-50 should be cake, but it shouldn't be too time consuming. We play this to take a break from our 9-5 lives. If leveling to cap only takes a few days getting power leveled or fighting in groups so what. It most likely means all the content headed our way will be higher level content and not low/mid level content.
"End game" is where we spend most of our time, why put on the brakes gettign there?

When I first started playing FFXI, they decreased the amount of exp it took to get from 50-75. Tons of people complained that had high levels, but it made the game more enjoyable for those coming into it, (including the members of my ls, none of who had a 50 yet). Then came level-sync and Astral Flow burn parties, then Abyssea. Leveling will always get easier over time in a MMO.

Leveling up was a more rewarding process in FFXI by far. You actually experienced stuff as you leveled up. From day 1, FF14's level up process has been absolutely awful. I've grinded my butt off and I have no fond memories of any of it. By comparison I have countless fond memories of leveling in FFXI (though admittedly a lot of bad ones too). Not only is it too late to save the level up process in this game and make it "XI-like", but the market has shifted away from long level-ups to facilitate more casual gameplay and SE is changing with the times. It is unfortunate that your self-worth appears to center around being a more hardcore leveler than other people. Why not go for server first Ifrit or some uber-materia'd gear or something else to brag about? Stop resting on your past accomplishments.

This totally breaks the game. I had to work hard to get to 50, playing every night for at least 2 weeks and sometimes putting aside things I needed to do. One time I let the trash pile up and I didn't take the trash out for 2 weeks. My house smelled a little bad but it was worth it. Try eating pizza for 2 weeks straight while you have the thrill of being one of the first people to 50, or taking your second character to 50. Or taking vacation time to be one of the first to do something and now someone can just power level to 50 in a few nights. It completely breaks the sense of all that I've accomplished in this game. My life has sucked enough SE, please don't take away the one thing that has brought a little happiness to it.

I don't want to be rude but:
1-I don't see the point of telling your personal life in mmorpg forum(nor people cares,yep,we're cold hearted bastards.).
2-The quote,that's YOUR fault,why you want to be the first to get level 50? you want attention from the players or something?i think i saw some of your signatures of other players saying things like:You should be the GM of this forums or something like that,all praises to you, so it must be that.They're not going to give you a medal. Let me tell you something,competition is BAD.SE's message already says that don't forget family,work,ETC.Seems that you don't really care, saying that you even didn't take the trash out...

At 1st i felt sympathy for this thread since ur life story is pretty sad and i like your enthusiasm and opinion about FFXI =) then i got to this part, and just think it's sad, disgusting and pathetic all combined into a whole new feeling... anyway this is a game... everything else out there is more important including taking out the trash...

You dont have to do that.
You can still xp the old fashion way, and take weeks to get to 50.
But at least now we get to choose if we want to waste our time grinding or not.

It's all about the end game.
