I think what he meant was how the Au Ra "suddenly happened." Before HW came out, Yugiri was the only Au Ra in Eorzea. After HW, there's suddenly hundreds of them (in player form. NPCs aren't as common). All races are pretty close to the same character models to ease the work of new armour, or maybe ps3 limitations?
If subs are way down when they are discussing expansion three or onward then expect Viera with the tag most asked for race join Eorzea. If they still have enough subs/cash shop players wants don't matter that much.

If there is a new race, I hope they introduce this race alot better then what they did with the Au Ra. People can say whatever they want about WoW, but when they add a new race, they make the race a part of the world, this is something that I found very lacking with the Au Ra.Wasn't there a couple of throwaway lines (might have even been a quest or two) about all these refugees coming in from the east because of the Garlean Empire and blahblahblah? Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending how they were introduced lol, but I feel like there was some explanation at some point.
Either way, I hope they add cities/towns/villages for each race if applicable. Say what you will about WoW, but yeah, they know how to build a world with a lot of lore. One that feels like there's a ton of history to it. I mean, look at this lore for the freaking Hellsguard Roes:
Like...WTF. How could they not make that part of the game world?! That's cool as ****. It seems like such a wasted opportunity. The Hellsguard are a clan of Roegadyn with body and mind tempered by the unforgiving heat of the volcanic regions they inhabit. Believing the mountains of flame to be gates to the underworld, their line has for centuries stood vigil over them to prevent the passage of souls back to the realm of the living. Their sheer girth and steely demeanor open to the Hellsguard a wide range of paths, from the martial to the monastic.
As they hail from the volcanoes of Abalathia's Spine, they have no real city to call their own (and many Hellsguard seem to like it that way).
@Nestama is correct, that is what I meant. When WoW adds a new race, they introduce their city, their leader, their culture and as a player you can learn all of them. In the other zones you see outposts full of these people and you learn why they came to these zones. This is something that I missed with the Au Ra race. Where is their leader, all that I know is that the Raen have a princess, where is she?
To me it felt like the Au Ra was a afterthought when they added this race, like they made HW first, then decided to add this race and make some of them job related npc. If there is a Viera, I want to travel to their outpost, I want to meet their leader, I want to experience their culture. Basicly what they did for the Ishgardians in HW should have also been done for the Au Ra.
I fear if there is a new race, it will be another afterthought.
EDIT: Just play as a Panda, Death Knight, Blood Elf, Dranei, Worgen or a Goblin in WoW and you will understand what I meant.

That would only apply to the Raen Au Ra which share their culture with the Domans, but not to the nomadic Xaela who live in Othard... There's no indication whatsoever that the Garleans threatened these nomadic tribes but whatever, maybe I missed something.Wasn't there a couple of throwaway lines (might have even been a quest or two) about all these refugees coming in from the east because of the Garlean Empire and blahblahblah? It is true that Au Ra background isn't really pushed far, the only thing we could learn is that they come from Dravanian Lands. To me it felt like the Au Ra was a afterthought when they added this race, like they made HW first, then decided to add this race and make some of them job related npc. We could suppose that Yugiri is the hidden princess maybe ?
That's why i think that for the 2nd expansion there will be no new race as the expansion wouls send us to already known locations with already known races. Even if i would want them now, i think that Vieras could be for a 5.0 in a jungle like place. (There must be something past that desert right ?)![]()

The Heavensward NIN quests feature a Raen Princess. I dunno if she was THE Raen Princess, but she's apparently the leader of all the surviving Doma clan Au Ra.@Nestama is correct, that is what I meant. Well if they add Viera, and i really wish they do, i just hope they will add them with those legs on high heels, not the regular human ones. Really sick of hearing them 'we can't change footgear or what ever else cause of resources' . If they can't do that part they shouldn't add them at all
yes please give i want very much
