Veteran Rewards going to 1200 and 1320 days

The main issue I think is that the veteran rewards lose their value over time. If you get an item the first day it is released it has better value than if you get it one year after that etc. The Veteran rewards could easily be available on the Mog Station. No need to make it exclusive. So you stayed subbed for 2 years? Here is your reward, you get this item for free and you don't have to pay for it like the newbies do. Easy. That could imho work better, but then we would have players complaining they get nothing for the their sub time :3

Personally I wish the sub time was rewarded by removing annoying things from the game, spoiler alert it might be slightly P2W, if long term sub removed the weekly caps like tomestones or savage lockouts, I would gladly pay more months in advance. These restrictions are killing a lot of fun for me, because it seems like Yoshida does not trust us we would stay subbed.

Actually, what ARE you contributing to this? You basically just openly said you have no interest in the entire topic of discussion.

I was basically disagreeing with the OP who said that it was "disheartening" for newer players having to wait until they can get their hands on these costumes. I don't feel the same way as I don't care about these costumes.
Also, this is a forum... Am I not allowed to voice my opinion anymore? Does every thread need to be an echo chamber? I don't think so.

This is purely an issue of having time-gated content that you WILL get, just not today or tomorrow. I know that can be annoying, but don't get too off track in thinking that new players can NEVER have this stuff. That isn't true, at all.

Final Fantasy XI released in what... 2003? 2004? That means that historically, these Final Fantasy MMOs are not short lived. Shy of the world ending, I feel pretty confident that this game will still be around at that point.

Heh, I'm not sure how fair that would be to all the poor sods who have grinded out 1,000,000 MGP for their regular Fenrir mount. It's been mind-numbing and I'm only at 300,000 lol

I dont get why you're claiming this?
After all everyone will get the items after being subbed the same amount of time. Every new player will play without those items as long as the ones who are already having them. If they shut down the game before someone was able to get Zidanes outfit and they're pissed because of that (and not because, well, they "lost" their character and so on...) thats to bad (and an irritating thought for me tbh).

Those items are something extra - not game breaking (again: I played three years without them and managed to somehow survive...), just a "thank you, for being loyal - we value that, here have this special extra!"

Really, sometimes I'd wished people would get over this "I need to have everything NOW!" mentality...

Still, even if I doubt SE would do that: What about creating a new veteran for 4.0, so our current reward would stop at somewhat around 1.500 or so and everyone could start with the new expac a sort of "second tier" from scratch. So the new people would get their ARR-rewards eventually aswell while everyone could sub towards the 4.0 ones?

Nah, seems fair enough to me - I got my Fenrir after about 9 months, even without the weekly thingy that gives you a bonus back then - so seems cool to me to get one after 3+ years of playing this game - thats a huge grind aswell! ;P

I wouldn't mind the Red Fenrir as a veteran reward though I suspect some people would be disappointed with a palette swap reward.
I got about half the mgp for the blue one from the "Make it Rain" event and finished the rest with the Challenge Log bonuses.
