If shes just starting the game, she should just make a bunch of characters from every races and see them in game during the very first "tutorial" quest ( emotes, movement, etc ). Thats what i did with my femroe before switching to it on my main.FemRoe's can be really stunningly beautiful!
I really think she needs to actually play one herself, because she might be able to make the most stunning looking character in character creation, then get in game and hate it (been there) because of the way it moves in or out of combat. And nothing is permanent when there are fantasias =)

Here's an image of Elezen. I think they can be quite beautiful.

You're all just jelly we stand out in the crowd of Miqo'te/Au Ra clones :P

As you say, could make a male character, but at least I (it seems that she also thinks the same) I like to play a character of my own gender, I feel more identified and history and the game is more immersive. Of course I've ever thought about playing a female character, maybe someday do so. Her case is very similar, also one of the factors is to be the partner of my character. (Ie, is mia couple in reality and wants to be in the game also why a female character that looks good with mine)
I was pleased to be femroe, so could squeeze and crush me in his muscular arms XD despite the interesting thing about that option, prefer a character of maximum 185cm, the maximum height of my Hyur midlander. So think Elezen races and highlander (at minimum height).
lllllllll

We could always use more fem Elezen.
I would consider what kind of style your girlfriend would like for her character. In my opinion female Elezen don't look very good in things like swimsuits that reveal the neck and shoulders a lot but look great in robes and armour.

Highlanders are the best. I glammed a lot before stopping on it. And I mean a lot. I have 15 saved characters so like someone else mentioned maybe have her try out a bunch of characters before picking.
Highlander is a pretty amazing race to go great animations, great poses, voices are great the problem some girls might have is they're too "butch" however that's not the case at all I love most of the faces for Highlander and they're all enjoyable.
Midlander is a great choice too they're a little more dainty then Highlanders the only issue I have with them is their running animation it's kinda weird, Mi'qo and Au Ra runs are a lot better but I don't like tails which is why I don't wanna be one and the horns and ears too modify armor in some regards.
And for Elezen they're great but my only complaint is their little heads it's just so glaring i'd never be able to become one sadly but either you like Wildwood or Duskwight both are great options it's up to the eye of the beholder how you wanna make your character.
I started the game as a Midlander till 3.0 when I changed to a catgirl for a week then went Highlander and never looked back just something about tails and ears/horns that clip through everything just makes me not wanna like it I guess I don't care if there's a million cat girls/au ras running around play what you think is enjoyable.

I'd just like to add - don't not play a race just because it's popular. I played an Elezen female for over a year but just loved Miqo's too much not to play one. I love my character and don't care how many cats are running around, I'm not going to give her crazy hair or something I don't like just to be 'unique'. Everyone's character is personally unique to the person playing it.![]()
Hyur = best!
