I call that run the holy run...everything was holied...we finished with 20mn left no death no complains nothing.

No seriously...healers are OP in PoTD.

If it wasn't the wrong data center I'd swear you were talking about a run I had last night. Me on WAR, a WHM, SCH, and BRD. Total God mode. Fast, smooth, no deaths, really ideal run.

That really sucks. I'd been wondering where Ashkendor had been. I figured she got tired of the same old BS and left. I'm sorry to hear this, she was always a great voice of reason.

Yeah. I'd campaign for Ashkendor's ban to be removed as well (considering I took a look around and now KNOW the person responsible is still posting on these forums), but it's useless, she's already decided she doesn't want to come back. She's now off to Reddit-land, it seems.

Hey guys! I'm really touched and humbled that so many of you are concerned about me and share my frustration about this issue. I am still lurking the forums even though I can't reply to posts, and all of the replies in this thread to what happened made me cry (in a good way!). <3 You guys are really amazing and awesome and I love you all so much. I assure you all that I'm alright, just very upset with myself.

It has come to my attention that people are harassing Mwynn in-game for Selli's permaban. That is unacceptable behavior. Shame on those who are doing this. It is not Mwynn's fault that Selli got banned, what Selli said is Selli's fault. I was in no way trying to blame Mwynn for what happened. If this behavior continues I will not be posting on Selli's behalf anymore nor will I be posting anymore either.

The fact that Selli's post was perceived wrong or as too harsh is between her and the forum mods and is in no way Mwynn's fault. If you have an issue with what happened, take it up with SE's support center rather than trying to make an innocent person miserable.

I am truly sorry Mwynn. I simply wanted to allow Selli to say a sort of "final goodbye", I suppose and neither of us expected an outcome like this and I am sorry people are trying to make you a casualty as a result.

Every forum I have both been on and moderated has a means where an offending person is warned at least once, then potentially suspended before a further action is taken. Jumping straight to a ban seems wholly unfair. I think the mod team he should adopt a similar approach to avoid situations like what happened with Selli or mine own a little bit ago.

Both Ashkendor and Selli are part of the people that defined this forum for me
I was locked out of the forums for a few weeks lately too (different reason) so I haven't noticed Selli missing yet, but now that I know... T_T

I always felt that she was very understanding, even when she got mad at something. Also, always loved any and all pictures she posted!
Can't say enough how I hope they lift said ban. Even if the language was bad, the meaning behind it wasn't, so while bad language is not allowed and should get punished, a perma-ban for one of the most valuable members of the board doesn't seem warranted at all. Valuable as in, valuable for SE too btw, as an active, fun, creative forum is something they profit from as well; not just in terms of feedback but in how it looks to new players.

Wow, I didn't even realize Selli was ever banned. Jesus. I remember that post and her reply to it and I don't even remember anything that leaps out at me as breaking the rules in any way.



I learned a while back that this forum has a certain reputation. A few months ago, my own FC leader that people here might know as Ashkendor got into a scuffle with someone on these forums that took 'JAPANESE SERVER MASTER RACE' a bit too far, to the point of basically outright saying all English players were bad in a really racist way. She got permabanned for calling that person out.

The person who started that is still walking around these forums too, last I heard.

So that's why I haven't seen Ashkendor around. See, another reason these bans are handed out far too swiftly. Instead of a warning or any sort of dialogue, you're just kicked out. I really do not know why the mods taken on such a totalitarian approach.

Well, I'd understand why they do the things they do, but these particular circumstances have us baffled. In Ashkendor's case, the true offender is still walking free. In Selli's case, she and the person she responded to weren't even attacking anyone on the forums, just airing out general grievances about their experiences in this thread.

The funny thing is Ash and I (along with two others in our FC) are all forum mods that migrated from another MMO, and while we have our own set of flaws (we posted FREQUENTLY and people called us biased as a result, and admittedly there was some truth in that in the long term, though lots of it had FAR more to do with people wanting to hassle us on a personal level BECAUSE of our mod status), we'd never hand out bans unless it was a total last resort - of which by then it'd be very, VERY clear to everyone watching what the ban was actually for. The toxicity level where we came from was even to a point where people would make alternate accounts and use proxies to circumvent IP bans just to mess with us even more.

But FFXIV's population is like 50x that of the game we originally came from, so...

i feel almost ready to give up this game... i have been trying for 4 nights straight to clear Final Steps of Faith, and every night in the Duty Finder its been the same sorry tale.. Login, maybe lose a few dps to the phase 1, get them back up for the three mobs and don't clear them fast enough... wipe. I think i've seen the phase after that all of one time in all the tries i've done so far starting last Friday. By the third wipe, usually people start yelling, either at heals or dps. Tonight, i got called sh*tty healer in French, them thinking i guess i didn't know what "merde" means. This trial is destroying my will to heal.

Try party finder. I had to deal with the same duty finder madness until I gave up. Party finder saved my day as we were able to clear the trial instantly.

No one was blaming anyone. You're bringing someone else's name into the matter and I'd edit it out if I were you.

Many of us are saying a permanent ban is too harsh a penalty for so small an infraction. A warning, sure. A temporary suspension, maybe. A permanent bans is very extreme and is like swatting a fly with an axe.
