I think the only time a seasonal event was fun since ARR was their first Halloween event, where you had to answer questions correctly or fight the ghastly/ghoulish npc's to receieve the items to trade for the pumpkin heads...since then its been a snore fest.
You're in for an unpleasant ride if you expect any event content to not be fluff
I found this year's Valentione's Day event enjoyable.

A mentor stole my house, slapped me across the face, and raised my ping from 15 to 30. Literally unplayable.

I think that Easter has always been fun, the spriggin maze and chasing the egg around gridania was fun for me at least. The christmas one where you had to go around to peoples houses for their outdoor trees was also kinda cool (also the rising for different reasons). I think some of the seasonal events have been more creative as of late (though little ladies, moonfire faire and halloween have always seemed to be lackluster).
I liked lightning returns, and i do not even like FF13 o:
Where the heck are my yukatas. :[ Unhappy camper
I've been looking for some good looking metal armour legs for my healer. Very happy!
Those gloves look nice, i want them^^
Damnit! I have been trying to create my new character on Gilgamesh for over a week now and it looks like I will end up not only missing the Yo'kai event, but this one too.
I was hoping for new swim wear. This is a disappointment and seem out of place for the Moonfire Event.
