On a scale of 1 to 5-- Do you feel SE listens to their western players? State why.

As an EU player coming from WoW i can tell ya that they are doing just fine.

Blizzard have decided to keep all eu players in a separate forum, making them unable to participate in discussion with the devs. The few posts they recieve are copied from us forums. The one time i remember the blizzard team mentioning EU players was in their 2014 documentary. In this film they insulted eu players indirectly stating that they unable to provide feedback.

At least when I played WoW from Vanilla through late BC, Blizzard did listen. It's just that their response time on feedback was horrendous and frequently missed the mark. I still remember the firestorm of criticism regarding end-game raiding in early BC. Did Blizzard eventually get around to addressing a lot of that criticism? Yea, they did. Did it take them years and sometimes multiple expansions? Yea.

And judging from the conversations I've had with Blizzard employees their WoW team is a hot mess with high turnover, horrible leadership, and a lot of drama. Basically, it's a horrible working environment.

As for SE, they obviously listen and they react pretty quickly. Just look at their knee jerk reaction to Diadem early on, the addition of items to Mogstation, the changes they've made to PvP in general, their nerfs to A6S, their changes to PotD, etc. I'd say with how Yoshida puts himself out there, it'd be pretty hard to not hear certain issues when they are voiced directly to your face. It helps that interviewers usually at least have a few questions mixed in with the soft balls that actually address real issues.

They'd also probably listen more if the community did a better job of organizing and presenting their criticism in a productive manner.

Also, as a community, with how crappy our behavior is at times, we don't exactly make their jobs any easier. Just look at Yoshida's recent response to removing GC restrictions from Frontlines. He's considering it but worries about the way we will abuse it. In some of the discussions regarding the interview, people are already proposing numerous ways to abuse the removal of GC restrictions. People might make some argument regarding human nature but sometimes it's not about what you can do but what you should do. If SE didn't have to deal with so much blow back from the exploitation of their systems, they might be more willing to just push changes out.

I'm going to say it's likely 2. They listen, but they listen to stuff that is irrelevant and not exactly necessary.

Also, it's painfully obvious that all Live Letter questions are picked long before, and the threads asking for questions are just an illusion making you think that players' voices matter.

This... they give you the illusion of asking them, but they ignore the really important questions, such as bug fixes, broken systems (Looking at you, TT tournament) and things that are vital to the game's enjoyment. But they gloss over them, and respond about things like 'Hey why isn't there a wink emote in this game? MUH IMMERSION!" and it's like, yeah, that's great. We have a wink emote now... but we're still sitting here with a bunch of stuff that needs fixing but is being ignored because of things like this...

SE has a plan. A vision of the game. And they are continuously changing the game as all players reach out.
At least 2 of my ideas. From what I found on the forums I was the original poster on have been implemented into the game.

Also you just have to look at SE community reps posting on NA forums about ideas..

Someone reported my response as well so lets not mince words, no one insulted anyone's race. I answered the question the OP asked and put in my opinion as was asked for about the video game we play. Others are entitled to different opinions so be it. I stayed on the subject, my response to the diatribe was reported as well which was short and sweet but I feel like it has zero place on this forum.

I will go with 3. I think they listen but not as much as to JP players. Also they seem to be listening to us especially in unimportant matters like QoL, emotes, cash shop etc. while JP get more attention in things that actually matter.

If people learned to use 1 thread for each topic it would greatly improve, but western community isn't the only side that is at fault.
