    I have to admit I tried Gla (again) on Ifrit, thought lolGla and just went back to Mrd.

    But for normal grinding I just don't know what you're talking about. Sure you have to kill mobs a bit lower now, but the sp is still amazing if not better than before 1.18. Fights might seem a bit tougher, but for it being as miserable as you'rel all saying it is.. I don't follow at all. And you're going to be insulted after saying this, I know you will, I'm sorry, but it seems to me that just all the bad players are complaining right now. You're definitely doing sometihng wrong. Find out what it is and fix it.

    Enemies outside the city are WAY too tough.

    I already mention it should be soloble at lv1-20 and be able to handle enemys at a easy rate.

    HP/MP recharging rates are way to slow to keep with with lower leveling making it extremely tough to handle Links and do chains.

    New & some expert players do not have Materia linked into there equipment. New players do not have any gil to support equipment and materia.

    Enemy ATK & DEF need to be lowered to about hafe what they are now.

    I like that leveling is a little slower than before (solo - it was much too fast), and that battles are a little harder. I feel like I need to gear my character carefully now. I notice a huge difference in performance when I equip things close to my level. I'm starting to appreciate every level I gain because I have to work hard for them. I don't feel like things are handed to me anymore. I can't wait to get some really cool gear and try out upgrading it with materia.

    Well done with the battle system! It took a bit of time to get used to but I'm really enjoying myself!
    And thanks for giving me a reason to get out of my nooby gear! XD

    While I think the patch is important for the long-term direction of FF14, it seems like too much of a change too quickly. I logged on for the first time since the update to my level 10 THM, grabbed a levequest, went to the level 10 camp wearing the same equipment I had before the patch, and couldn't defeat one mob anymore (doesn't help when the mobs attacked in groups of 3-4 in the levequest). While the idea of using materia is good, it seems like too quick a change in combinations with all the other re-calculated stats for enemies, etc. Reading other players opinions, it has discouraged some players from playing the game, which is the last thing SE would want right now. They want to make the game profitable for them as quickly as possible so they can start charging monthly fees again.

    While I agree a change was needed, it is something that could/should have been implemented more slowly over a couple of patches to allow players time to adjust to the changes, rather than dropping it on everyone all at once. I'm not really feeling encouraged to play the game right now.

    While I agree a change was needed, it is something that could/should have been implemented more slowly over a couple of patches to allow players time to adjust to the changes, rather than dropping it on everyone all at once.
    That would be only true if the current players actually mattered.

    They only matter enough for them to not do a character wipe. The rest of the changes people simply need to deal with for the sake of enabling them to create an (eventually) profitable title. They must handle the game with heavy hand to make enough of a difference. That means resetting the economy and making everyone's equipment useless in the process. That means resetting the game mechanics everyone has become used to for the sake of creating ultimately more balanced systems. It means drastically changing how classes function (and their roles) to fix the underlying issues of the mechanics behind them. And most importantly, it means doing all of this in the most effective way possible (in one sweeping motion) to finish the game in the least amount of time and resources as possible. The only rule they have is: No Character Wipe.

    Even though that would definitely allow them to finish the game much faster, instead of making sure no character is corrupted... at every turn.

    I think the only drastical change nobody will have objections with is the UI and server rehaul. Everything else? Bitching will ensue.

    I just realized that I and a LS-mate of mine fell into the trap of the thinking old way of doing things mindset last night. We were in the Mun Tuy cellars and were trying to get to the room where some mobs we needed for sidequest were, but there was a level 39 in the way (I'm 33, he's 31). I hesitated but my mate says "we can take a 39" and I thought yeah we can. 20 seconds later, he's dead and I'm running away. 30 seconds after that I'm trying to inch my way to his corpse to Rez him without aggroing the 39 who now seems to be camping his body as if to prove a point or take revenge for all the past times we could mow through content.
    I realized now that you all are right. It will take some adjusting to and careful thought. I need to take a look at my gear today and check out what I can improve as well as adjust my hotbars. We may need to seek an alternate route to get to the room. For the first time in this game I feel challenged.
    What... What is this strange feeling...? I think... I think I'm excited!

    My opinion and feedback is that I have no goddamn health and that was the whole point in me picking a Roe'Gadyn. I also hate how you evened out stats so that melee and ranged classes have as many points into caster stats as they do stats that they actually need.
