    Thumbs up FATEs again? Q to the Community, Why do YOU think they keep trying to revive this?

    Im genuinely curious how you folks think, I've been playing this game since 1.0, I love this game, despite it not having everything i want, But honestly, FATEs are the biggest mistake this game ever did in my opinion. And SEs insistance on strong arming it into everything they possibly can just blows my mind. The player base has over and over again asked SE to stop using this awful FATE system in stuff, yet they keep doing it. so why do you think that is? why do they keep reviving this other then the fact they dont want to see it die? Why not let it die? majority of the player base doesnt like this garbage system for anything but EXP

    Also, you dont need to tell me to just not do it, i've already decided that these ugly minions and weapons arent worth it to spam FATEs, so i don't need your input on what to do and not do (Just saving you some time)

    I think they need to stop trying to revive FATEs by centering events / relics around them, and just re-work FATEs to be more enjoyable and provide more consistently useful rewards.

    In the rewards structure, for example, each fate could give Lore - level dependent. With, say, Azys La providing 20-30 Lore per completed fate. Alternatively, they could provide much more gil, and/or crafting mats.

    In terms of enjoy-ability, just like, look at every other game with basically the same concept. They've all done it in ways that i found fun. For some reason here they just aren't, and I can't figure out why.

    This. The Fate system is a defining feature of FF XIV v2.0 and beyond and it just need improvements to make it more fun. They have done some fun ones in the past like the chain-fate defending highbridge, and boss fates like Odin.
    So, longer and more interesting fates to rouse interest along with rewards which are worth going back for multiple times. For a long time the big fates like cyclops, crab, chimera have sorely needed allied seals / centurio seals, something along those lines to make it worth going back for.

    Honestly, at least the Yo-Kai event seems to be doing something new with FATEs... The whole "Have the right minion out" thing is cute, if nothing else... I imagine they keep shoving stuff on FATEs because it's easy though... I wish they'd instead give us new, more challenging Levequests or something else instead...

    FATEs really are terrible though... I have no idea what they were thinking when they replaced Hamlet Defense with them... FATEs could have potentially been something like XIs Campaign, but I think there are just far too many FATEs and it's just an unorganized mess with zero impact on the world... If they want to keep FATEs going forward, I really wish they'd go for quality, rather than quantity... I almost like ones like the Highbridge saga of FATEs, but the vast majority of FATEs are just dull and completely forgettable, being "forced" to do them via various pieces of content doesn't improve my opinion of them...

    It would be much better if FATEs actually had an impact on the world instead of being just a repeat of the same things over and over again with no real outcome. It would be better if they were rare events (like Odin or Behemoth spawns) and actually *changed* things.

    Examples:

    Quiquirn attack highbridge. FATE is unsuccessful. Quiquirn rule highbridge now. Won't let adventurers or merchants pass. We must amass a force (even with our grand company?) to get it back. Show the winning GC's banners on the bridge.

    The Prince of Pestillence has infected the Black Shroud with a mysterious disease. The Sylphs are becoming wilted like old leaves. Botanists and alchemists must work together to create a cure while the battle classes attack the Prince, but they need to be careful of not getting sick themselves.

    And so on...

    This would require people to actually put effort into content and leave there DFing hubs. We can't have this!

    This is one aspect of Palace that I really like and that I miss from version 1. I makes me leave my house and actually see the world.

    On the downside my blacklist already has many many new entrees from the /sh /s and emote spammers in quarrymill. I like getting together in a group but I do not need to know about your disgusting love of feet or what you and your gf did last Saturday night. And the constant flow of emotes from some ppl... go to Balmung already lol
