#2 is the biggest part I don't get. They're codes for virtual things; why limit it to people buying trees cut down to make an old medium? If you pay the same amount for their digital edition it shouldn't even have remotely been a problem.

The FF XIV copies in the australia's shops are EU versions. So yes, they will get EU item codes in the australia event.

I agree, but I assume because digital copies cost less and they want to get paid more for that (I'm just assuming).

That or they just didn't care enough, which I think it's more correct answer, since that any other method (especially digital) would've been far better than this.

Given that the community managers have indicated that further promotional opportunities are on their way, could it be that the magazine tie-in in the UK was an early opportunity for UK players and that a pan-European promotion was/is already planned, but not yet available?

I mention this because people are making a lot of unwarranted assumptions in this topic, jumping to conclusions based on those assumptions and reacting as if their conclusion is fact, instead of assumption. Better to wait for facts than jump to conclusions and look foolish, don't you think?

Organizing a promotion that crosses 20+ national borders and legal jurasdictions is a non trivial task. Organizing a magazine driven promowithin a single country is a mere fraction of that work. Please consider that the marketing team has to negotiate in each country to cover the region, not just one umberella agreement.

Taken on it's own, the current UK promotion is ill conceived, not least because of the limited availability of a print magazine, but also due to the lackof relevance print media has with gamers today. So, I'm not defending the current promotion. What I am saying is that the full plan is not known, and as much as it is trying the patience of European players, you do need to wait for more information, before concluding things aboutthis campaign.

Given that the SE HQ is located in London and the UK, most if not all the time, gets the bigger slice of the pie when it comes to EU promotions, how can the rest of us EU players not be concerned with the current state of the campaign? Since the EU rep is basically ignoring a lot of the concerns of the players, all we can do is express our worry. There's a lot of what ifs here. Main one is: if the codes/issues run out how are we going to get them? Of course the UK players will have to get it from neighboring countries. From this point on, nothing is assured, nothing is clarified and we are waiting for answers.

Personally I am bumping and updating this thread not just compile the issues and complaints, but also to prevent this issue from getting swept under the rug.

The Community Rep's response is actually late since players have already mentioned about emailing Games Master. This one was posted 15/July which is 4 days before the rep clarified it. There's also a looming problem with limited available codes in their office to be provided to those who have missing codes.

Regarding my missing codes from one of the two magazines I purchased yesterday afternoon.

I contacted the head company that owns Games Master, Games Radar, late last night (through their onsite emailing page) and also emailed Games Master through the email provided on their Facebook this morning.
Games Master (I assume the latter email is more reliable than the first) replied not too long ago apologising for my lack of code slip in my purchased magazine and requested a photo of the magazine (as proof of ownership/ purchase). I sent the photo and they said they will be sending a replacement code slip asap.

To those that have bought a mag and not had the code within, please contact the company and they should ship one out to you.
Be warned, apparently within the office they have a limited supply of spare code leaflets, but I'm hoping all should be okay for those who bought and missed out.

Wait and see is a double edged sword because if do not comment on what is currently the case they may not improve or do better with the later ones and it could be a repeat of how badly this one was done. At the same time what we have currently is not good, there is good enough reason to complain about that and hopefully SE is listening and taking what is said on board and using it to improve the other EU ones (even though they seem to the most part be ignoring the majority of points made in here when they leave any comments of their own). It would be more foolish to say nothing and be stuck with another bad deal for other EU promotions because there would of have been no complaints on the previous one.
