Did Halatali Hard as ninja. The tank had around 800 health more than me, so I looked at his gear and noticed that he said several level 50 pieces and a few 30 accessories (he was 56, by the way). I then realized that he was a gladiator.

It went as you would expect.

He wasn't able to hold hate at all and didn't make any attempt to. Naturally, the rest of us were being attacked more than he was. Whenever we were being attacked, he made no attempt to get the mobs off of us. The other dps even mention about using his tank abilities, but he didn't answer. He also liked to pop every cooldown he had before the boss was even pulled.

I suppose so but to be honest the only time MT suppose to turn is on a rare ocassion when MT got push into the edge, or deep charge goes off and MT doesn't have time to re-center boss. In this case when deep charge goes off all the MT do is to stay center and let boss return back to center. The only time when MT moves is when those flower bulbs pop up.

Yeah I hope the trend fade soon because the amount of time I saw the raid get cleaved is too damn high ! *insert meme*

I wish they wouldn't turn Calo as well. I've only had one tank successfully not cleave over half of the entire raid by turning...

Another trend I've seen is tanks just tanking her on the edge as she does her Depth Charge....and keeping her facing the party. It happened several times last night while I was farming. And they just sort of stood there while everyone got cleaved and wouldn't move her. Despite us telling them to please get back to the center. ;-;

Had such a nice Halatali nm run just now!
I queued in-prog as a THM and immediately noticed that there was literally one other THM there (same level, too), and he'd apparently queued in-prog just seconds before to a completely empty dungeon.
He's got Protect and I've got Stoneskin, so we decide to take some of the dungeon trash on for a little while, and we're just barely making it, healing each other up as we dps, until we're hit with a Doctore and two bombs.

So we have a good laugh and we're about to call it quits, and that's when a WAR shows up.
The other THM immediately casts prot, and I SS him, and the tank's like, "you both heal me" and "let's roll", and we do.

And then really soon after that, an AST mentor shows up, and we end up getting through the dungeon pretty smoothly, with fast pulls and everything!
Really glad we stuck around.

I think those tanks are trying the same thing at the edge of the arena... but this only requires everyone and MT to move so that her haircut goes outside the arena. This is great and all but we limited the space to move and dodge the jails... The ideal spot is center and only requires a bit of side step from MT and everyone move to get out of haircut. Not to mention that we have room to move from jails, and those bulbs.

Yes and then sometimes she will change sides and Haircut almost immediately without a moment to turn her and she cleaves the ENTIRE arena.

Basically, it's an attempt to make things easier on the DPS by not moving. A lot of Pro-tank players will attempt to do it, and the lesser skilled ones will try doing it too, so it really is a "trying" and "failing."

However, in my times of doing it, I've obviously found it's a lot better just to keep the boss in one place. Since it is a 24-man raid, not everyone is going to be on the same page. And besides, there should be no reason anyone should get hit by that move.

So, yea. Hopefully that fad will die out, because 90% of the time it just makes things more difficult than it needs to be.

I agree, it's much easier to just move left or right.

Lately I keep getting White Mage partners in Void Ark (I play SCH) who refuse to exit cleric stance even when people are almost dying. The last one I had wouldn't even cleanse debuffs off himself/herself. -__-

I had a moment of frightful hilarity today at The Aery as an Astrologian.

The Dark Knight tank for some reason just did not load in for me and as a result I was not able to target him. I have never had anything like this happen before, so I was at a total loss. I initially assumed he had run far ahead until it quickly dawned on me when we were engaging with the first trash pull that this poor chap was going to die a swift, humiliating death. I started panicking and grabbed my keyboard ASAP to tell the party what was happening, while the DRK internally screamed as his health plummeted faster than a deceased Dragoon's DPS output. His Living Dead gave me a few more seconds to finish typing and gave me that crucial breathing space to save the DPS from a total wipe after only 30 seconds.

Luckily after the DRK rejoined I was able to target him on the party list like normal and I could finally see the guy. We had a good laugh about it and the rest of the run was pleasant. This was the first time he ever had to use Living Dead, so he claimed. Hey, I feel honoured, lmao.

I think yesterday I had a lot of luck. I got nidhogg normal in trial roulette with a new person and managed to clear it in one shot lol. After that the group I sub in for A6S one shot it for the first time ever (with a dps who had only done it 1 day before too amazingly). Then also managed to clear some people through A4S. Though the only bad part was the tank that took forgall in weeping city was an idiot and kept spinning the boss around.
