I knew that as a UK player I'd get screwed... But they really didn't need to use sand as lube. =(
Absolutely disgraceful "promotion".

I was reading about this, it seems the three month way is only for people who want everything? And really the white chocobo looks identical to the yellow one except in white.
At least people who just want the maid/butler outfit only have to buy one magazine and don't have to take any pictures.
It still sucks for you guys but at least it's a silver lining that it's not all or nothing?
Also, for those of us outside of the UK have to pay for them to send as well, making it all in all redicoulously expensive.. I hope they do better for that small sidenote they had about nordic countries, cause I sure as hell aint sending my picture to some random uk magazine
Hmm why is this even so... bad? For a promotion like this being this bad, you can bet your ash that the gaming websites (yes, those are a thing SE these days!) will have negative press all over. Oh boy someone really needs to reconsider their occupation, whoever came up with that idea! This wasn't thought through in the slightest
did you consider that it's THEM promoting the magazine and in Japan's case 7-eleven?All of this could be solved with one solution: Steam.
Make sure that the players don't refund the game and allow a minimum of 20 euro purchase and that the code must be proved by something, to not allow bots or something, and poof: you get your codes. Maybe allow 20 for the bare minimum and 30-40 for all the package. Simple stuff!
It's not the best safe way because you can always make multiple steam accounts....but it's 1000% times more accessible than this atrocity!
And once again, to those complaining about this - stop acting entitled.
A) this is a promotion item. PROMOTION. Same as there are special items for gaming events. They're not required to give it to you in any other form.
B) they're not even required to run the promotion in EU at all. There are plenty of continent exclusive items. If they wanted to keep the competition to JP exclusive, they could have done it.
Going to the store to buy something VS sending a personal email with a personal picture to a less-than-reputable third-party company where who knows what they might use the picture/email for.perhaps the reason for this is because how badly Amazon stuff was botched? And you had to show yourself to buy 100 bottles of water. Even if you had them delivered to you, you would still need to sign the physical delivery. Otherwise the person in the store could identify you.
If a shop clerk was personally taking pictures of each person buying an item you'd have a point and I'd be hesitant to step in there, but no. You're not making your case any better.
Pay 24€ and send my picture?
Square I would pay you 30 but buy some random magazine and send my photo?
Not going to happen -_-
like I said, I had to send my ID to stores before and that's far more intrusive. The picture does not have to have your head in it. All it has to have is the proof that you actually own the magazines and that you own the codes. As for email, you can create a gaming email/ temporary email for things like these if you're so afraid that they're going to do something with your email address.Going to the store to buy something VS sending a personal email with a personal picture to a less-than-reputable third-party company where who knows what they might use the picture/email for.

Throwing my hat into the "screw that" group. Unless they come up with a better option, I'm not considering this and feel that my opinion of SE has lowered for even having this campaign. They would have been better off just putting it up on Mogstation if it was all about money. If it's about advertising, the best advertising is to not piss off your existing user base with stupid requirements.
doop doop
As a player in Ukraine, this is exceptionally disappointing. This magazine does not even ship to my country.![]()
