1 Materia makes any crafted item better than any NM/Raid/Dungeon item. Why?

Can not sentinel etc. gear from coffers be fitted with Materia?

No "etc", just Sentinel. Others (Sorcerer, Sipahi, etc) are R/E.

And btw, coffer or craft, if they can be sold there's not much difference. They still can be bought and everyone can have them, even who never does content.

So? XI was like that. Didn't bother me much as an endgame player, it certainly did not diminish the accomplishment of killing those mobs myself (in fact it made my shell rich so I never had to farm, craft, or much else I didn't want to).

Also Darkhold gear is not best in slot (lol most of it never was), but it is decent starter/filler gear for those at 50 who do not have very good materia/crafted gear in many slots. Maybe it could be made a little better now to compensate (it did get a boost, but not enough), but we all knew it wasn't going to be able to be slotted with materia well before the patch.
