FFXIV 2nd expansion: Viera-like race still a possibility?

I could live with Ronso as a new race. I'd prefer Viera first and them second to be honest. As far as models and remodeling existing armor goes, I think you'd be able to model Ronso off of Roegadyn and the Viera off of female Au Ra (please, don't make the males tall, buff, and with murder faces again, I'd have made a male Au Ra if there was one that looked more like the females then a completely different race).

No, that would still be a gnome. A dwarf would be adding another short race, but something that isn't childlike in appearance (something this game actually lacks. I'm sure people would love to play a short race that cannot be mistaken for a child/potato and isn't cute by default). They'd also have knees.



Their maximum height could be shared with the female Au Ra's shortest height. So they can be taller than the Lalafell, but shorter than everyone else.

I don't think people understand WHY everything is a human with add-ons.

Development for a single human body type (and ps3 limitations) will always be what they would prefer over making many different body shapes. The ps4 will eventually hold the game back so no, we will never have the beastly race everyone is asking for. You might as well stop now.

And a HUGE reason people want Viera is not because they have bunny ears, it expands upon lvalice which is not expanded upon enough in the Final Fantasy series. I'm all for bringing lore from there. And don't say anything about lore from outside XIV, half of the game is based on stuff from all other FF games.

Hasn't it been said by the devs that Ivalice (and Vana'diel) isn't on Hydaelyn? I'm trying to see how you can make sense of expanding the lore of something that doesn't exist in Hydaelyn (which does have its own lore. Sure, it borrows things from other Final Fantasy games, but it gives them its own spin. Ozma for example, is not an ancient Eidolon. Xande is/was the Emperor of Allag. Calofisteri used to be a mighty sorceress of Mhach, etc).

So if Viera do come into FFXIV, they will not be expanding on Ivalice lore. They will be people with rabbit ears born from the sea or whatever nonsense SE could come up for them (Elementals and Padjals already have the 'Guardians of the Wood' Job).

Urgh... Please no. I would be extremely disappointed if they decide to go with viera just for the sake of fanservice or go with something extremely mainstream such as a gnome or a dwarf race... We already have 2 tall races that looks like viera which are au'ra and elezen and we already have the miqo'tes who were the primary reason why they did not choose viera.

I would much prefer seeing something more original like a satyr or something like that.

Rabanastre is within the garlean empire, so sooner or later, we will see Viera, if you like it or not.

I'd vote for Bangaa, but I'm guessing they'd have a hard time modeling all the various gear onto them :\

They can't even deal with BUTTS on the existing races!

So does that mean we're also going to see Kefka at some point (Doma, a place in FFVI, is also in FFXIV... though in VI, it had a noticeable lack of Au Ra)?
