Oh ok. I wasn't sure if I had actually said that and totally forgot or if it was something completely made up. I appreciate the clarification. Have a good day.
W/R/T the thread topic, it comes down to being respectful of other peoples' time. If you're a lazy player, you're wasting your group's time. That's the most valuable thing we have in this game. I don't think anyone would be mad at a healer who doesn't go into clerics so long as they were making an effort and didn't hamper the group's progress. I'm not coming to the forums to rant about a roulette that took 23 minutes instead of 18. I can live with people who are the video game equivalent of C students.
Unfortunately, many players do not even meet that level, or perhaps they are trying, but are so dense or inept that it appears otherwise.
SE should select some players to do streams where they demonstrate proper rotations, healing principles, positioning/tank cool-down usage, and other basic skills. I know some players already provide these sorts of resources to the community, but you don't see links to "how to dragoon per second" on the login screen with the rest of the news.
Based on my comment having been up for only a couple minutes and there is proof that people agree with it, that tells me that I haven't just completely made up anything. If it's any measure on how many people on this particular thread that agree with you, I'd say you're not looking so hot in this current company.
In case you didn't see when I said it the first time, I could literally give 2 poops less about what trolls think about me. So if you think "i'm not looking so hot"... all I can really say is... cool, man! Good luck next time, my friend.Based on my comment having been up for only a couple minutes and there is proof that people agree with it, that tells me that I haven't just completely made up anything. I always hate when someone gives the "healer dps isnt taken into account in raid design" as a reason that dpsing as a healer is wrong. If you dont want to, go ahead, that isnt necessarily wrong either but it also means you aren't a great healer too (just average).
Healer dps not being taken into account during raid design doesn't mean "Yoshi doesnt want us dpsing" it just means that he doesn't want it to be entirely necessary as long as the groups' dps players are great. It still helps and Yoshi doesn't frown upon it. If he did, healer dps wouldnt be mentioned in the Hall of Novice
I see more DPS Tunnel Vision than do poor DPS. They will stand there and Stand in every AOE, not Execute Mechanics, and just overall be a stain on the ground and then defend themselves with But I did XXX more DPS than anyone else. Good great, you still wiped the raid. I will see tanks hold Aggro quite well but not move the boss when the boss needs moved for a mechanic or in an odd place in general. Sure they have threat, but that's no good if your standing where AOE is going to happen or ontop of the adds it needs to be tanked away from. I will watch healers as they both slap on cleric stance and forget to look at their groups for heals. I have seen this in AST/SCH WHM/SCH and the rare WHM/AST and especially in groups that both healers are the same.I'm a Tank and I play my role at 110% I do roulette's mentor roulette's trials and have cleared my end game content. However I've been coming across a huge issue in the game that can't be addressed in any way.
It revolves around players who barely play their class to any form of potential refusing to take advice and forcing the community to carry them through Duty Finder dungeons. This is extremely apparent in some 4-man and especially in 24-man content. Now not everyone plays to the maximum potential, some don't have the mental capacity/motor-skills or reflexes to mange all their dots, skills and abilities. Some is gear but its a small majority. I see it often where a player who thinks they can get away with a carry will.
I've attempted to tell people to pick it up when I know things should be going different or skill that should be on the boss aren't. I know when a healer is neglecting their role. I know when a Tank ends up screwing up. The issue comes when its a persitant thing. There is no way to punish players for their poor play-style, vote-kick doesnt work cause they can just re-enter without penalty or they are with friends who have similar mindsets or dont mind carrying. Where as someone who leves the instance due to not wanting to carry poor players is given a penalty.
I hate carrying people who won't preform. It seems unfair to myself and everyone else who puts the effort to maximize their play time by carrying someone who refuses to put in the effort to be penalized for it. It's even ahrder to pinpoint if DPS are really bad, botting or just not carrying other than to see how fast something should be dying. A system needs to be in place that penalizes poor play despite how damning it would be to some players. Agree if you want or not but I know their are many who have been in a group where that one or two players just aren't doing what is needed and then punished for it.
Lets ignore the run with friends arguement, as it stands your friends are always available. Times do not always match up. We have lives and dont always have the ability to play together.
A Tunnel Visioning But high performing Player is a far worse thing to have than a mediocre player that is Doing the Mechanics. Its not the Mediocre player that is the first to decorate the boss room floor. Perform well and follow mechanics, and try not to tunnel vision.
Salty players aside, depends on the dps each player is doing.
A good player that is distracted and is doing, lets say 1800 dps and dies, even after being revived will do more than a player that is completely unaware of what buttons are and is way under 1k. Not to mention a good dps might realize his mistake, apologize and do better next time.
