Nidhogg doesnt do a cleve attack during fang and claw, so the OT (or MT after the swap) can dps the fang after establishing aggro on Nidhogg. It might be enough to fill the gap If you're getting stuck there. Just make sure you're ready for Ala Morn.

There's a dps check in NidEX?
Really though, the fight is a mechanics and dodge check of a fight. As long as people stay alive, do mechanics and are competent at their job, the checks are non-existent.
Start to mess up mechanics or die too much...then the checks appear.
You -don't have to- clear everything by yoloing it. End game should require raid groups and the content should be accessible only for those people who can/want to raid. Sadly Nidhogg is extremely easy and you can get a kill through the PF with random people as well, unless they don't know how to play their job or they run out of patience (those -do not deserve- achievements like this though :P).After several weeks of failed groups that try to get past the DPS check, I am starting to wonder if the DPS requirements are excessive in regards to the player base. What is the needed ilevel to clear it? Everybody in 235+? Do I need to wait a few months for people to get better gear or should I break down and buy a clear from a server first FC?

Nidhoggs DPS checks are less strict then Sephi i feel, and less so then thordan (F that last red cross guy) and, even if you had a PT of full i240 players, doesnt mean they play well to perform on their job, i was with a SMN last night in i230-240 gear who pulled less DPS then our PLD. i mean, Gear doesnt help people play their job, it just augments their numbers.
Nidhogg EX is easier than Sephirot EX o.O
The DPS checks aren't the issue. People simply don't know how to properly dodge mechanics. Thankfully, SE seems to be moving in the direction of scaling the difficulty in lieu of catering. In any case, you don't need to clear an EX to do others. They stopped that restriction after... Ifrit, was it?
If you are failing the DPS check in that fight then the group you are running with needs to get better at their classes.
Healers should contribute more dps to help out, DPS should study up on their rotations. The DPS check on the add phase isn't even that tight compared to checks we've had in the past, I don't know how you can be having a consistent problem there. Usually pug groups fail at fang and claw from it getting healed too much.
Nidhogg ex isn't too bad imo. The DPS check doesn't feel tight or restricted, especially on adds, since it's not too different from normal mode. It's mostly just raid awareness and stuff. If too many deaths happen, then you're screwed, especially in final phase.
No, dps check is fine as is
Wait what? This has gotta be one the easier primal fights. The DPS check is ridiculously lenient especially compared even to the likes of Thordan or Sephirot.
