So, actually had an interesting experience with a dps that wouldn't pull their weight a bit ago. Leveling roulette put me(Mch) into Haukke Manor with a Pld, Ast, and Blm. At the first boss I saw the animation for Fire 2 go off, and went to look at the Blm. This was their rotation throughout most of the dungeon. B1>B1>F2>repeat occasionally using Thunder 2, and sometimes using Blizzard 2 without walking towards the mobs to hit them. After the boss fight I decide to check out what classes the Blm had leveled, 50 blm, 15 arc, and acn and one other class were 15 or lower. So I asked the blm, "(name), why are you staying in umbral ice?" No response. Half way to the second boss and they're still playing the same, so I ask again, "(name), you know you're gimping yourself playing like that, right?" Still no response from the blm. At this point I wanted to vote kick the blm, but there was loot being rolled on. Half way through the 2nd boss the Ast speaks up and apologizes, saying the blm is still pretty new to the game, so I ask if the blm is on a ps3/4 and the ast says she's playing on pc. I ask if the blm would like some advice on how their job works and the ast says sure. So after the 2nd boss died I type up a quick explanation about the extreme basics of how a blm works, astral fire for damage, umbral ice for mana regen, use fire till you're low on mp and than transpose into umbral ice to get mana back. Also that fire 1 does more damage than fire 2 unless there's 2+ targets and blizz 2 better than blizz 1 against 4+ targets. Still no response from the blm. On the final boss, the blm still does the same thing, but atleast knows to turn off 1 of the lanters. At least the ast wasn't rude for me trying to give their blm friend advice, and realized that I was doing more damage so the balance went to me, but I guess this question would be more so aimed at Mattelot, is it "elitist" for me to want someone to have at least basic understanding of how their character works, even when the rudest thing I did that whole dungeon run was contemplate trying to vote kick them?

Considering Vote Kick shouldn't be abused in the first place for someone that isn't "Playing their class properly", I would say yes that would be a negative attitude.
I don't blame you for suspecting it might've been a bot, but when you look back at it what can you really do unless they're in your world/server?
I don't see why people thinking that vote kicking for anything like that is okay. Unless they're blatantly harassing you, AFK, or went offline it shouldn't be a resort at all.
In before I get attacked with "Why are you defending these trash babies? It's people like you that allow this crap to go on"

Ask SE to implement what WoW and SWTOR do. Give you the ability to put players in the group on ignore (it factors in their server as well) and not only does it stop you from seeing their text, it also stops you from being grouped up with them again. I know a certain drg I'd love to put on this list, I don't care what anyone says about them paying their sub fee and playing how they want. This drg was only using True Thrust, Heavy Thrust, and Impulse drive and ignored all of their other abilities. It was the single worst experience I've ever had in a dungeon, we couldn't beat the horse boss in Sohr Khai because the dps was so low that we ran out of tombstones with the boss at 80% hp.
Perhaps some tutorials for players that have just reached level 50-60 to teach them some endgame rotations and what they should expect from their class?
It would serve as a reminder, anyway and give players resources to draw ideas from.
This solution has being given lots of times, it will simple not work unless the players are forced to ( something that will never happen )
Some ppl ignore completly that this guides exist, orthers just dont care a bit.
Well I can certainly say that votekicking people that don't conform to a player's "standards" is not a solution either.
I didn't think the player was a bot at all, but why is it vote kick abuse and not harassment if someone is purposefully playing their job wrong and refuses to even acknowledge someone trying to help them?
Because there are players in the community that legitimately believe their 15 dollars is worth more than the 45 dollars of the rest of their party and they should be permitted to play however they want and no one has the right to tell them otherwise.
