Ran into a tank that didn't like that my ninja was 218 ILV, (have a 225 drk, felt like dpsing for a change, casual player) that harassed me and told me to "get the __ out" of the run. Went on about how I'm not bothering to gear up and wasting their time as my DPS would be too low for them to clear. They sat at the start and refused to move, threatening to kick me if I didn't leave. Reported them for harassment and left.

Now the other day a friend who just got back into the game after being away for over 6 months ran into the very same tank... (they were reported by everyone)





So running expert for lore is 'refusing to gear up'
Also I tanked their run when they barded, the run didn't take any more longer than normal.

Also note after they posted the above on tumblr (with names visible) others came forward of their own run ins and reports. This tanks been this way for over a year, and even brags on this forum not caring as there untouchable because none of the many reports ever led to anything.

Needless to say I'm tanking all their runs from now on, because elitests like that should not be allowed to ruin the game for people.

I would but as it has the names visible, I don't want to get in trouble here for name shaming. As is I took their screenys and blured the names myself to post here. But the tumblr post has over 130 replies, and some are other horror stories from others who also delt with the tank in question.

Kind of irks me off that this dude's been reported multiple times and nothing's happened to him. Just wow.

Wiping City of Mhach. Reminds me of my own nightmare.

I went in as a Astrologian and the other DF healer was a Scholar.
1st boss, he was healing a little.
2nd boss, he was constantly on the floor and subsequently AFK-ed for the rest of the raid.
3rd boss, I had to solo heal and get help from the healers from other alliances. I voted dismiss on him but got rejected because JPs are nice people and they don't really vote people off.
Before 4th boss, my 2nd attempt of vote dismiss got through since the rest of the party finally realised he was not there throughout the whole Ozma fight.

He could have said something before going MIA. Ugh...

People like that need to stop playing any games as I bet they aren't anywhere near as good as they think they are.

I feel absolutely fortunate I've never run into this person. How awful.

BTW, please encourage your friend to stick around with the game. It really sours my stomach to know that they came back to the game and day 1 this happens. I'd hate to see someone leave for good because of one jerk SE refuses to ban.

I just fail to see how GMs can claim multiple reports but just go "meh" to it. On the upside, nice to know I could turn into a complete ass and not have any worries However I wouldn't do that, I'm way to nice.

I'm not condoning the player or the GMs for this but I suspect he gets away with it because of the blanket rule of "play how you want". The GMs may agree that he should be banned but unable to because of the policies they have to support on the job.

Personally I think it crosses the line into griefing and the player should be banned.
