Companies - You're Locked in for Life!

Okay, I just don't get it. Why must we get locked in to a Company. That is the worst thing to do in the history of video games is to make end all, once in a life time, can't go back decisions. Please change this and for the love of all things holy don't slap a Fee onto it. Sometimes this game is so taxing with all it's Fees and we don't need most of them.

I don't understand, you're saying you don't want this option? Stop comparing this to real life it's a video game. If you don't agree with me then say why this would make this game worse.

It's not a flaw in design. You get to do certain quests and acquire certain items when in each guild; if you could quit one, and join another, what's to stop ya from doing ALL the quests and getting ALL the items?

It doesn't make much sense, and if you think about the story of the game, it doesn't make sense that you would be able to just cruise around to each different one and take what you want from it.

I seriously don't understand. The Grand Companies represent ONE city. One mission has you spy on opposing cities. It would not make sense in the concept of the story to join all three companies. Also, at the moment there aren't significant differences between companies so what is the big deal? Lol.

When will people accept the fact that SE aren't trying to copy WoW? If you want to play WoW, go play WoW.

This isn't copying WoW. In FF11 you could change your faction.

Jesus f***ing christ are people seriously defending this gigantic flaw in game design?

How is it a flaw? Seriously? The way the game's atmosphere is going it makes perfect sense -- it's also almost militaristic in nature. (City-States is a dead give away.)

I know why they did the lock-in, but I think it would be nice in the future if we could do a quest to join another GC instead. The quest would wipe clean the amount of seals you had and you would have to start fresh. This is essentially what the Campaign Faction changes required from you. Not to say it should be like FFXI, but even after joining LL I still feel like I'm going to regret Ul'dah like I originally wanted to.

I'd personally like to be able to experience ALL of the story in the game, not just one faction's version of it.
