You ninja'd my response. How dare you...Trial roulette doesn't require the completion of all trials in it anymore. You just need i90 and at least two trials unlocked. For example, I have an alt with trial roulette unlocked even though he's never done the Heavensward or A Relic Reborn quest trials.
I suspect the real reason we don't have Hildy trials this time is that the questline was rushed out due to popular demand and didn't receive as much planning or develop time as the ARR questline.
I think this as well. The 3.0 series was suppose to be about The Scholasticate series but when it wasn't popular they brought in Hildirand last minute. The Scholasticate will be back in 3.4 but I doubt we will get any trials for either quest line for the 3.0 series, but theres always hope!![]()
I actually liked the Scholasticate quests, since it was different and interesting. Hildibrand I've avoided (that cat girl I never remember the name of is still in Ishgard), as I assume it's still the same boring "comedy" that hasn't changed since 2.2. If it gets a Trial and I'm told that it's neat/interesting, then I'll have to do the quest. I like having more options in my roulette.
People would still need to unlock them, though, for the rewards that they would no doubt offer. I'm no fan of Hildibrand, personally (I think he's ridiculously overrated and repetitive) so I'm hoping the shorter quests is a sign that he's fading into obscurity. I'd prefer to get Hildibrand quests every other patch in favour of more variety where side quests are concerned. More delivery quests to flesh out NPC backstories would be pretty sweet.
TBH, I don't want any trials for Hildabrand. I am loving the main stream quests that follow without having to wait for whatever. Mind you, I love the Gregg fight to death. It IS my favorite fights in the game so far. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhVmotLIWw8

Needs more GILGAMESH....I mean GREG. Bring it!
It didn't get much popularity because it was a bit too serious. After the whole 3.0 feel train people just wanted something to get them off the pain they experienced from the Main Story and countless depressing side quests like that one side quest where a little orphan girl died before she could reach her dream.I think this as well. Hildy series is popular because it gets people off the feel train and seriousness the Main story and countless other side quests constantly focus too much on.
because to many whinged the trials were gated behind quests lol se listen to the whingers to much i miss hildy trials
I love the hildi series, but I don't want trials. I prefer solo instances instead
