I don't think most of you guys understand how shanda runs a game. If Nexon is bad you haven't seen shanda, I've played a shanda game for 5years prior to FF14. They are the least ethical game publishers, greedy and gives 0 care about the health of the game unless it yields good money. They ran Dragon nest to the ground, and now the population has heavily declined, players who have left would never want to go back. When they deem a game is dying they milk the current playerbase dry, using little money to bring newer content and using most of it for a newer game.

They also made exclusive costumes which other country's dragon nest publishers have the purchase if they want to use them for their own.90% of the game updates are gachapon updates and 10% content.

While leveling potions are nice to have we do not need additional cash stuff on top of our subscriptions. So please for the love of the twelves, no.

With regards to providing a jumping potion, I am personally a mixed bag on this idea. Follow me here:

    New Player vs. Story POV:
    1. Pulling a complete jump to allow a new player to then enter a “Proving Ground” like WoW (and considering there is already an actual location that is a Chocobo Proving Ground), it looks like the 4.0 is setup to allow a player to utilize a jumping potion.
    a. Not a problem with this. Nice to see that the Dev Team already has a place that was added in 3.0.
    b. Personally, I was hoping that this location would actually become an actual Battle Arena similar to the Battle Arena in FFVII.
    2. I agree with the ability to jump a new player, but I also believe that they need to play through the story to understand current in game events. Because of this, considering that there will be a level cap increase with 4.0, I would accept a jump potion to allow a new player to hit level 60 and bypass 2.x and 3.x progression, but would still require them to play the 4.0 storyline.
    a. As for gear, have them geared out for the 4.0 progression. All of us who have played will either be there or beyond it (raiders, looking at you).
    3. As for cost in MogStation (USD), I would expect this to be at least a minimum $60.00. Considering that they will spend about that much for the 4.0 expansion of the game, if they want to skip, 50% of each 2.x and 3.x original launch market cost sounds appropriate to me.

    Existing Players:
    1. As an existing player, who is also a casual player due to real life responsibilities, I can see a plus side to having something like this available. However, I also see it as being extremely limited:
    a. For me, I would love for a way to take my mains alt DoW and DoM classes/jobs from 30 (where I ended at 2.55) and jump them to lvl 60. Do I play them, sometimes, and usually goofing with my friends in dungeons and on the open map.
    i. I would see these working 2 ways:
    1. One is something I really like – potion makes me lvl 60 and I still have to do the quests to unlock all the quest locked skills. Very my speed and keeps me fully in the story.
    2. The other being one that jumps everything and makes you a full lvl 60 class/job skills included. I would expect this is the one that would be preferred by the majority of the community.
ii. However, I would see these as being completely class/job specific, Not disciple specific.
    1. Costs would be $20 to $35 depending on how they are made.
    2. Crafting and gathering – I barely worked this in the 2.x progression due to the fact that it seemed like a major skill grind with no major return (unless you have time to get 3 star crafting or fully maxed gathering)
    b. A jumping potion that would allow a player to be geared and level 60 to START the script grind I would be completely okay with. Also, if they made the potions work like the DoM and DoW listed above.

I see that it is a good thing for new and existing players, and even those who un-subbed for long durations. However, I also believe that SE, who has made a franchise out of epic stories, will need to find a way to do this, and still make it so a player is still and is an understood part of the story.

A jumping potion simply to jump a new player to do end game raiding with their friends I believe would be one of the greatest epic crimes that SE could commit against this franchise as a whole considering that the entire game, even end game raiding in FFXIV is still tied to the central story which we existing players started with either 1.x or 2.x depending on the player (Personally missed 1.x but got in during 2.0 beta and haven’t stopped yet.)

Maybe do what swtor did and have an epic story boost. You get a x12 exp boost while doing the story mission. And you can turn it on or off, that way everyone will be happy (or maybe not).

NO NO NO NO Just leave things at it is!!
1st lvling pot is a bad bad bad bad BAD IDEA.
Trust me !! i've played WoW where basically u buy the game and get a level booster.
Meaning U WON'T KNOW A SHIT about ur classes , how dungeons works etc.
Whats so good about jumping straight to lv max anyway?
    U missed the fun!!
Would u like to party with someone who doesnt know a shit in dungeons?
One who will just hit everything they see , not knowing boss mechanics etc?
I would rather teach them straight from basic LEVEL 1 then have to teach someone with lv 50/60 but 0 knowledge.

With how much a correct rotation matters in this game I'm saying no thanks. I'd honestly hate to see these people in a dungeon.

This potion should only be for people who have ALTS. And thus they have no reason to see the story again (unless they choose) otherwise no no no.

They could shorten the msq quite a lot honestly. So many of the quests are junk. Talk to guy in place a. Run to guy in place b for a whole 3 lines of conversation then return to guy in place a. Quest complete.

A lot of the junk in these quests could be condensed into fewer quests with a bigger combined reward without impacting the core plot points at all.

There's hundreds of msq quests and most are forgettable because they offer no real development of the story or plot. So could easily be removed or condensed without impacting the story

i too have rough time dealing with "bad player" who doesnt listen doesnt want to learn.

my point is... if u want to be good at something , then LEARN from the very basic and eventually u will be good at it.
it takes time but it'll worth it.
Instant stuff works better for food. Instant ramen for example

A player who wants to learn how to play their Job will learn how to play it (even if they decided to skip the levelling process and get a level 50-60 Job on day one), look up guides and listen to advice, etc. A bad player, one who chooses never to learn or listen to advice, will be bad no matter which route they take (even if they start at level 1, but choose to only use Ruin, Blizzard, Rage of Halone, etc).
