show your au ra!

Hmm, you know, it's been about a year since Heavensward was released. I'm curious to see when people decided to make the transition to Au Ra. Undoubtedly, some stuck with it, some haven't, others switch in between races, or maybe people started with Au Ra. So after a year, how is everyone finding our scaley, horned humanoids? Any surprises, or things you have to get used to? Regrets or things you still pine for?

For me, I switched almost right away. It was only after logging in on the first day to live test the benchmark templates to make any tweaks, and to say good-bye to my moon mancat, that I used a fantasia. I thought I would be switching back and forth, but between deciding on not spending money on Fantasias and falling in love with male Au Ra, I've stuck with it.



It's been quite a ride, this past year, and I am very happy with the way my character is (even despite the horn selection, but I don't really want to spark that debate here). I miss my miqo'te, and the voice took a while to get used to (having a very shounen voice in emotes, but sounding super gruff in attack animations), but now I can't even imagine my character being different than what he is. I will continue for now as an Au Ra and for the forseeable future.
