YoshiP No more Region Exclusive Items, Please.

Many people tend to forget there are different companies in these versions of the game, that makes this stuff. I talk about, square is the publisher and make ofc, but there are other peopel behind these versions as well sadly.

This this this so many times this. SE did not make the items for China. China's distributing company made the items for China. Same thing with Korea. It would be one thing if SE made these and withheld them but they didn't even make them in the first place. At this point it's like complaining that somebody else's mom made them a cool shirt you want.

I love them and I want them available to me but I understand the blame isn't entirely on SE here because it probably isn't their intellectual property (at least not entirely) to decide who does and doesn't get it in the first place.

*smashes her face on the keyboard* do any of you look into stuff before typing...... ff14 in china and korea isn't handled by SE, China has its own company that holds rights/copyright that publishes content for their version of ff14 to handle censorship laws in china ect ect ect. AKA why you cant play with China/go to Chinese servers. And same goes for Korea due to their billing/sales laws. Just a tidbit of info. Yoshi had nothing to do with those items.

I keep seeing people coming here and throwing around words like entitled and entitlement.

Let me clear up the confusion here.

Wanting does not equal feeling entitled to something.

While I can’t speak for everyone else here, I can speak for myself. I am not asking for these items because I have any sense of feeling like I deserve them. I am providing the feedback that was asked for during the live letter, showing the development time that I would like to have them.

There are different Localization teams, but only one development and art team. The items in question were made in house by the Japanese art team and developers. This has been shown in several posts in these threads.

Now. As to if these exclusive items are part of a contract with the companies that provide access to the game in regions where the game would usually only be accessible via illegal methods we don’t know, but the assets are created by the same hands that create everything else for the game.

Square still has say in what happens with their game and by extension... those items. The other company may hold the rights to provide the service there, but Square should still be having the final say in anything development/service related. Including promotions.

If it comes down to not being able to give us those EXACT items. Then create something similar. Obviously its got a lot of support behind it and wouldnt become armoire-fodder like most of the promo items we've seen.

I agree 100% with OP. In this digital day and age, it really is quite ridiculous to have items that remain locked to a certain region, more so when we're talking digital items.

Have them for all, or re-direct that dev time into things that ARE for all regions!
