    Making Money For Casual Players

So I'm having alot of difficulty finding ways of making money to afford things. It took me nearly two years to save up enough money to buy a house, and now have no money to afford anything within said house.

Now I'm stuck with trying to find money to afford the pieces for this step of the Anima Weapon quest. I look at the Market Board and see that I could try making items that are in demand to make money, but whenever I attempt to do so, get undercut and left out at sea.

Now I'm by no means a hardcore player. I can play maybe a few hours a day, maybe longer on weekends. I really hate repetitive actions, so things like Crafting and Gathering literally put me to sleep. Everyone I talk to just tells me to craft and gather, which is of no help at all for finding an viable solution to this problem. Others tell me to do dungeons, challenge logs and my dailies to make money, but the amount is so minuscule that I'd be at it years yet again.

So I've come here looking for help. Some sort of solution to my problem of making money, so I can experience some parts of the game that the Dev deem require me to have an absurd amount of money to accomplish. Please refrain from single sentence "Git gud" answers. I've gotten enough of them from the people in my FC and linkshells on my Server. I don't need it here.

Also, sorry if I'm being abrasive in the way I type. It's just how I come off.

Sell esoterics materials. Do weekly Mhach for dark matter and sell the tier V materia. Run Aquapolis, though that one might not be worth it if you can't get your own maps. Go into Diadem, grab 20 spoils, sell tier V materia.

Sell everything on the market board. Everything your retainer brings, sell it. Craft and gather everything yourself. The most important thing, sell the newest hot materials/items quickly. Example, Glass Fiber from the Moogle beast tribe. it was going for around 300k when i sold mine off, quickly made almost 700k easy money for selling 3 of them. Sure i may need them later, but i can get them any time. Right now they dropped to under 150k and will keep dropping as weeks go by. Take advantage of people who want new stuff they are easy to make money off. Before the houses for 3.3 came out i bought some of the house items for cheap under 1k on the market board and jack them up to over 20k. as soon as 3.3 came out people were buying the items up quickly and my stuff sold out. I never buy anything off the board unless I know the prices will go up.

There is an item that I predict will go up in 3.35 or 3.4 patch. I bought 2 of them for 10k and already the prices went up to 50k. when the patch releases I'm sure they will be in the 300k area, maybe higher. On my old server i went from 30 million to 66 million in less than 2 months just selling stuff. People are at max Gil limit its very easy to make money. its all worthless because its all free. All you have to do is make the items yourself.

The numbers are out of date (they are higher now) but this DoW Gil Guide still has good information.

Outside of that, MB manipulation is your best source of income.

Well, I see you have a lvl 50 GSM (I stalked you, sorry ._.) that should be plenty high to create some easy accessories. I know you said, "don't tell me to craft" but there are some crafts in there that can be made with 2 mats and sell decently. lvl 30-40 accessory gears usually only require the rock and an ignot to make (well and some shards). The mats don't usually cost too much since they are lower level, you should hopefully be able to HQ easily.

I'd suggest you get a mining retainer if you don't already have one. I see you're fairly high lvled with it, so just get one, then collect something that sells well. You should be able to get shards/crystals. Those ALWAYS sell on every server. You'll have to pay a little attention to your market price of course, things flux pending demand. Perhaps undercut a bit yourself so you sell quickly.

I hope you get GC seals doing your roulettes as well. If so, just spend the seals on cordial. They always sell as well. If they're selling for 1500 a pop, sell 10 for 1300. It'll sell quick. If you're willing to wait a bit, try selling at market price, or maybe a bit above hoping the supply gets bought out and reaches you since you aren't online much. Don't be one of those people selling 99. The finalized price is always too high, people don't buy often enough to make that worth while. The only thing you'll usually get away with that for is shards/crystals.

Look to get steady source of income, not 1 big and done types. Those always sell slower. Look for something that stays fairly stagnant and is constantly selling.

Well, I make millions per week and I am by no means a hardcore player.

I explain the rules for a successful business to you, so if you want to get rich fast, u better listen.

1st rule: analyze the market - if you know what\\'s hot shit on the market and sells like baked potatoes (no I don\\'t mean lalas, they are made into lalalasagne ) u are one more step ahead. If people buy something often, they buy your stuff more often and so you will make money.

2nd rule: get a cheap source of the materials u need to craft the hot shit u want to sell.

Be it puppets, crystals, materia, special gear or housing. Anything u need for it, should be easily obtained.

PRO TIP: get those wild tribes to the max, they sell good mats for a cheaper price than the market board.

PRO TIP 2: employ another player for collecting your mats and buy it under market price value but huge amounts of it.

U will both profit from it by both making profit and do not lose money due to other sellers.

Rule 3: after u found your gear to sell and managed to save your supply, now comes the important part: stocking.

You want to sell as much stuff as possible for better rewards with a price as high as possible.

That can be done by 2 ways (possibly using both for best results)

    1. Sell a lot of different things with 5 (under 4k gil) -10 (more than 6k gil) pieces each. Means u need to increase your number of aids.

    2. Talk to your selling rivals and do a little price-agreement. Don't worry, SE approves of it since it is a legal strategy to increase your income. Unfair to the buyers and totally cartel-like but totally legit at the same time.

For me I tried 2. But the other sellers find it unfair to the buyers, oh well, I ruined a lot of businesses out there and still made millions so I don't care.

2nd is just a way to equal your chances.

PRO TIP 3: if you don't like number 1 and 2 then scan the market for stuff that no one is selling but people still look for it.

Also, if the price of an item is fluctuating don't panic if you get undercut. If you are not out of selling spots just let them sit there. This goes well especially for crafting materials. It might take up to a week but then someone who's leveling their craft or who knows what buys the board near empty. So if you know you have reasonable price, just see through a week cycle or two. I did good money when I was leveling my retainer by alway getting same item. Partly it was because I didn't bother to raise his item level much so I was stuck with 30-35 hunts. Might not have been the fastest exp for her but for a while I had a steady supply of an item I sold on flat price. All of it sold eventually. Since I put it up as I got it it was in up to 5 stacks which I only combined if I ran out of sale spots.
