I don't think he's pissed about having to wear optimal gear. I think he's pissed 'cause he's going to get his coffers drained by crafters who will charge an arm and a leg for optimal gear.

Pretty much this, I don't mind wearing optimal gear, I wear OP gear all the time but the problem is that you could get gear a few lvls above your rank and still be fine thanks to level stats but now you get huge penalties from gear one or two ranks above you, wich means, I will have to buy/craft new gear every 3-5 ranks and we all know that some people like to overprice stuff in the wards. :/

I just have a sneaky suspicion that those of us who didn't try to make outrageous amounts of gil and spent less time crafting are going to be screwed. I need to start leveling my craft. I only have like 500k ever, and I've at max had a mil haha and I've played since release, I think that's why at times, if I could reclaim the gil I was ripped off in early times I'd have a lot more.

Its just like most people have to replace 90% of their gear, I do too. Most of my shit is low level and I can craft it. But past that I might be spending all my money I get from liquidating the items no longer needed on getting new gear for higher levels. My highest craft is 36 I need to fix that :/ I know its my fault. It just kinda sucks being told "level a craft or be poor" There aren't any serious farming methods for battle classes to make money like there were in XI.

I don't craft or gather. My gil comes from leves and from selling all my crystals. I've managed to get by comfortably thus far, even though the 2.5mil I've saved up over the past year is chump change to a lot of people.

I know I am happy. Coblat armor is the shiznit, and I didn't need to buy a thing.

I don't think it will be too bad on new players anywho. Having a R50 craft and low battle classes isn't going to help too much since they FINALLY made the penalty for equipping over-ranked or unfavored gear real: no extra stats and less than half the def.

Just gonna have to go along at a normal pace.

I don't have a rank 50 Craft or 10m gil all my gear is "Dated" and I will survive. Hell I know people who don't have a single 50 that are as upset as the OP. Maybe it's just a melond thing but I haven't seen any items that are out of whack with the market.

thats cause 3ds sucks, did you try it before you bought it. I played zelda at the store and my eyes couldn't even focus on the link. It gave me a headache in less then 5 minutes.

Eh...honestly...I don't care about the stat increases for armor. Sure, they're helpful. But if I'm wearing armor(or rather, robes in my case) that is 20 levels above my rank and it LOOKS cooler than my optimal rank gear...imma wear the cool stuff. ^_^

Sure, it makes things harder. And yes, I probably die more often than others...but I look awesome while doing so. XD
