Astrope, the 2 seater pegasus takes over 5 years to obtain if you do it casually

So this is the reason.... This is the reason why people are assholes to Mentors!

Everytime i go into mentor Roulette, i actualy want to help people do whatever it is, and i already got two types of responses (These were actualy the responses i got):

1- " OMG a Mentor that actualy mentors!"
2- " Shut up! You only want to get the commendations at the end!"

Though with the last one i talked with him and we set it aside, he even apologized. But yeah... i always wondered why i was treated like that, now i know... It's this damn pegasus and asshole mentors that do it...
So if you are all mentors out there... Actualy help others! This is a community where we don't need more salt or drama added to our lives, there are actualy people that want to help, not interested in the prizes only!

Oh wow, reading through this seems like it's a bad idea...

Change the achievement to:

Receive 1000 (or even 2000) Commendations in Mentor Roulette Duties.

-> Mentors have to actually be nice / helpful to work up to it. (or at the very least not be unfriendly / rushing)
-> Lower 'minimum amount of duties' required, since you can get multiple commendations a run

I actually really like this idea for mentor unlocks.

I think a lot of people are missing the point of it being 2000 mentor roulettes.

This is a long term goal and to get people to do the mentor roulette multiple times per day. They fully expect players to give up.

This is not supposed to be a casual thing.

I agree with this. I'd say it actively discourages people who would only run mentor roulette for the mount while also rewarding those that actually mentor in the long run.

The "wrong crowd" is more likely to give up rather than actually complete it. It takes dedication and an acceptance that it will be trying and tiring.

You are highly underestimating people's determination. They will keep at it, and their attitude towards new people will only grow worse as they push on. The Pegasus should not even be a mentor reward, let alone one that would take over 5 years. People who run mentor roulette 5-10 times a day are those grinding for the mount, not people casually helping new people.

Also, their aim is not to discourage anyone from mentoring, they're trying to attract more people. If anything, they're discouraging casual helpers by promoting such aggressive behavior from collectors. It should not be a mentor reward.

No, its because a large number of people just became Mentors for the crown icon by their name. If the icons were not "cool" then there would be fewer mentors and most of them would be genuine mentors. Icon only mentors give all of them a bad rep.

The prizes are incentives to queue the mentor roulette for more than the once a day 20 Eso + 10 Lore. The players who actually get these rewards will likely be those who can actually mentor people and are willing to do everything. They are not the type of people who will rage quit whenever they get Titan EX. The ones that are salty are those who can't see themselves doing the work for it.

I myself have everything at lv60 and has no "mainclass" I just play what I currently like, so I know lots of stuff.
But I dont want BE a "Mentor" in a game..
I dont want and like random people asking me stuff and in the end they dont listen, dont care or even stop playing the game at same day!
(had this on my 1st MMO, negative expierience, so I dislike this mentor system)

Why not "have 200 players in your friendlist" for Pegasus! So Its actually OBTAINABLE that way!

I've been mentoring since it released, and I've never encountered these behaviors from people. At most, I just got plain silence, but I get that a lot in any dungeon, regardless of mentor roulette. (I don't wear the crown outside of mentor roulette.)

Also, the Pegasus just came out, so I doubt that's the reason.

I don't nor have ever needed a "crown" to help others. Do people GENUINELY want to help others? Great, then do it without a special mount, XP rewards, or a f'ing pretentious crown icon over their heads.
