They reused 3.2 folklore nodes (smithsonite and camphorwood), the skill caps are the same. 720 gathering and 740 perception, something like that.

The new aethersand is from aetherial reduction from Radiant Astral Moraine or Lover's Lorel, available on every old ephemeral node for botanist/miner. You need 7/8 or 8/8, like the old sands. You get water/ice clusters/crystals as a side result, so yay if you didn't like fishing aetherial reduction.

Buying from Moogle vendor in exchange for tokens (I believe 7)

SE said I posted too much lol; had to wait a whole day to contribute ideas.....

I had said long ago SE wasn't trying to starve the community of a mat required for every single ilv190 gear.....that would be ridiculous! However I still think there maybe a few more ways to obtain the glass fiber.

DarthBuzzer > I used the old RNG rotation for leafborne/landborne aethersand (the one for 0/1/2 depending on procs) and I got the same numbers out of it. But I can't really tell for sure since collectability is capped and this cap used to be really low, reachable with HQ ilvl150 gathering gear without melds. So maybe the stats requirements are the same as for the old sands, or maybe they are higher, I already reached the cap and can't tell the difference. FYI Radiant astral moraine and Lover's Lorel are 60* mats and I get 87% gather like on folklore nodes. I'm sitting at 754 gather and 751 perception at the moment. My guess is, if you successfully used the red scrips rotation for 2-4 collectables on folklore nodes like Aurum Regis Ore (which asked for ~681-685 perception), you're probably good to go.

It seems to me the new gathering gear isn't needed at all at the moment and is just future-proofing for 3.4. If you reached the 3.2 caps, you're set for 3.3 too.
