I think, as someone stated, that part of the reason why the overgeared groups still wipe to mechanics is precisely because they are overgeared. They are not expecting they have to pay attention and thus derp more easily, than if they had to have at least some consciousness throu the run. For the iLvl sync, where it is set originally tends to have been at point where it could have been expected that not all players in that content reach that sync level, thus capping just the few that do. What I'd suggest to the fix is for level 50 content to just lower that sync point a bit since now the assumption is that in that content about everyone exceeds that point anyway. It doesn't have to be drastic decrease, just enough to make the content playable.

If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

It's a bit obnoxious to presume every new player just "Isn't enjoying the game". And it's a bit elitist to say "They'll never know how fun it was". Regardless of what your opinion is, because that's what this is, an opinion, if they enjoy the game they'll keep playing, if not, so be it. They won't.

Regardless how the new players feel about the way it's played now, it's also somewhat elitist to assume all old players want them to be blown through like now. I myself hate the mechanic skipping and too fast kills and utter lack of even remote necessity for attention. Even if it's far from the first time I'm there.

SE have added things like gear sync to party options and unsync on the flip side too, you have the option to under gear yourself for runs aka gimp yourself to make it harder and as a preformed party you can make it as hard as you want. Over gearing content is not an issue, SE have given you a multitude of options in how you want to tackle content and this is only an issue if you make it an issue yourself in how you choose to take part in that content. As for people still wiping even when over geared, that's a player issue of not paying attention and would happen anyways whether over geared or under geared. If they wipe they would/should generally stop messing around and pay more attention like normal.

While I appreciate the suggestions regarding preformed party, finding 23 other people to even want to go into crystal tower, not to mention in lowered gear on same server is hard at the best of times, while finding even regular DF party can take up to half an hour.

As a player who operates in the Novice Network quite actively, and has been doing so since it's Inception, honestly watching some of the new players come through has really began to irk me quite a bit more than it used to.

In the beginning it was all right, we'd run the earlier dungeons and get them through all right, because there wasn't much mechanic wise that needed to be explained. As time went on, however, we started to foster this crop of players to having a roster of endgame geared Mentors who would March them through everything, rarely opting to do the fight in a difficult manner. Some Novices are completely disinterested in even putting forth the effort to truly learn a fight.Even the ones who have reached the final tier of content and the ARR Primals, they're still being carried. I've watched probably 80% of all the Novices I've played with wipe to simple AOE mechanics or the ARR Hard Mode dungeons bosses. Fights that aren't meant to be THAT difficult.

Unfortunately, we're probably fostering a poor player base moreso than Square Enix is. Pony Farms are one thing, but there is literally an entire player base that's creating those awful Duty Finder groups we get due to either complacency, laziness, or the thought of efficiency. Worst part? It isn't going to be fixed, because too many players have their eye on endgame rather than appreciating all the content we had to work through. Next time you log into the Novice Network, go ahead and ask how many of the sprouts in there are actually watching the story cutscenes. It'll depress you lol.

    Iiiis...that a new thing?

I can't recall ever meeting someone who was interested in learning a fight, rather than clearing the content. Truly learning a fight was typically something grudgingly done if one absolutely had to with no alternatives in order to clear. It's like learning for a test - you often don't do it because the history of your country is so very thrilling, but rather because you want to pass, forget about it all two days later and move on. And even IRL, people like to cheat.

There is a theoretically very easy way to fix all this and that is to make getting better fun, because people will innately pursue fun when engaging in a casual pass-time activity such as video games, since that is the purpose of engaging in such in the first place. In practice, that's a 'tad' more difficult.

As for the pursuit of fun, whatever I do in this game will ALWAYS take a backseat to new Hildibrand quests. ALWAYS.

I understand where your coming from, but can't agree with it. Basically, if im a new player I want the entire game to do change so that I won't feel like a nOOB. The only thing that needs to change is a nOOb needs to be very vocal and ask for quick advice and/or read up online for their jobs. Players can still learn their job during speed runs if they make an effort and understand ever single on of their jobs. I will admit though, if you play on ps3 or ps4 controllers, you really are handcapping yourself. To mesmerize where ever single skill is on controller was a nightmare when I tried it. This means ps3 or ps4 players wont use every move correctly and will trim skills down to 8 or so.

Covenant I disagree, ps3 ps4 isn't a master race like pc but players can still use all their skills and can excel in a class they may just be at a slight disadvantage
