3.3 Hairstyle Pictures

I can't say I like any of the new haircuts this patch. Its funny, many female character here are saying that the styles aren't very feminine and I (maybe others?) don't think that they're very masculine. I guess when trying to go for gender neutral, nobody wins.

I kinda wish it's how it was before: 1 female, 1 male and maybe 1 gender neutral hairstyle.

Like the afro, the pompadour is just another joke/gag hairstyle.

In fact, many hairstyles seem very anime-ish. While this is a jrpg, they also have a rather large western audience and I would like to see something more grounded in realism, something that people can do themselves.

I am thankful for the short hairstyle released for men, but I want short hairstyles for men. Just like it seems many want more longer hairstyles females

Why is everything super short now...come on.

Mainly because long hair is far worse for clipping. The long style they have now (the one with that headband) not only clips with most gear, but will pass straight through your arm during several emotes.

A long ponytail can work, though. (That keeps it just far enough from your body to not clip quite so badly.) So I wish they'd offer that to everyone.

Yep, I am still suprised alot of mmorpg do not do what TERA ONLINE did with the hairstyles. For those that dont know how hairstyles worked there, every hairstyle has two modes, the long hairstyle that you pick and a short hair version. When your armour does not have any collar your character has the long hairstyles, but when your armour does have a collar, the hairstyle, becomes a ponytail, bun etc. It works and I have never heard anyone complain about clipping.

Add me to the group who wants to see more longer hair in the game. I know that main issue is clipping, but I'm one who would overlook it if it meant that we can get some waist-length styles.

Also, I'm also advocating for MORE gender-exclusive sets (just make more male-exclusive sets if that's a problem). Then again, I'm the guy who wants to wear a combination of the Femroe pants and undershirt and Hyur thighboots on one of my catgirls.

When I'm casually browsing my hairstyle catalogues, I get a lot of feminine ones. Hair ornaments of all kinds, cute ponies, like 3 variants of twin-tails, wavy or smooth hair down to the shoulders, braids, half-braids, even even more waves...

Those are the 3.1 hairstyles. I dare say 3 of those female ones are highly feminine.

3.2 gave us these, of which one screams masculine, one screams feminine and the others are various shades of grey.

For instance, my favorite hairstyle in the game is for male Au Ra (their long ponytail one), and I'd love to use it on my male Miqo'te.

Same. But on my "female" Miqo'te. Our messy haircuts can be counted on one hand if your thumb is missing and out of those, nearly all of them are short. I'm wearing the only exception to the left.

The way the patchnotes made it sound it was as if there we're more than just those 4 hairstyles. They also said the winners of the hair contest design hairstyles we're added. I'm wondering if they meant the runner ups in that case wouldn't it be 6 hairstyles?

This is a female Miqo problem though, when playing with character creation, Female Miqo's have probably the WORST line up of hair options, which is why, not sure if anyone remembers, they got access to the long female hairstyle WELL before anyone else did; it seemed that was SE's way to make up for their terrible hair selection. All of last patch and this patch is gender neutral btw. While that's only 2 patches compared to all the rest, that's the way they're leaning towards, gender neutral only, and that's how it'll be in the future if the patterns persists. (And for the person who said no one asked for it, there's been a lot of posts about people wanting gender neutral everything lol. I am not going to post links of every one that there has been, but they are out there).

And personally, new hair styles is like one of the most exciting things about the patch. "How can I make my character look different this time?" It's like opening a christmas present as a child, on Christmas morning. But the last 2 patches have been hugely disappointing for me, because it's like "How can I make my character look more like a feminazi with tom-boyish hair styles?" It's just personally, NOT, my cup of tea.

I hope so. It's a bit odd though. A couple of the included images look rather like the 4th and 5th male runners up, though not perfectly. (Or is it 5th and 6th? I can't quite tell the gender of the lalafell one above them.) But none resemble the first few runners up at all.

The Pompador was one of the runner-up IIRC. That has seem some display.
