The relic step isn't overly long, IMHO. I only just started grinding for a second and third relic a week ago and I already have a little under half the pieces I need for the second relic, and that's just doing my daily routine. It's really not that difficult of a step unless you let it drive you to distraction! You'll get there OP, chin up! o/ Course, I might just be a nut, since I was actually hoping the i210 step would be harder.

I just finished my 4th. My alt has 20/20/14/12 and 6 oils. Going to wait and see how complex the next step is before deciding if I wanna go there. I got her items just doing regular roulettes and the like over the period of time since relic released and S ranks when I could grab them.

I finished mine awhile ago was it fun? No, it's not the grind I have an issue with it's the design and how they did it.

why don't the developers see that this is just tedious and boring? Why couldn't they tie it in with Palace of the Dead? Or the new Map Dungeons? Surely i'm not the only one who sees the relic is more about how much gil we can shove down our throats with 500+ hours attached. It's kind of sad.

On the bright side, I'm queueing up very often now at this time, so it's really about doing other things in morning such as crafting or gathering...or maybe the last two dungeons (those are a bit more active) but that's it. I'm definitely not getting into beast tribes as I'm in no mood to start them from scratch and with all due respect they are very mind numbing... but thanks for the friendly advice and all the replies.

Stop with the "Relic is a Glamour item" because that's bullshit, and on 3.3 you can even customize the weapon stats. DRK one for example, is Critical and Determination CAPPED both, that's better than any other weapon, aside 245 from Midas Savage (and I still think thet probably relic 240 is better than this one in DRK case). If you don't like the grind, it is ok, there are another ways to obtain weapons easily on game, but do not missprize the relic only because you don't like it. Trying to justify how much hate the grind by saying that he weapon is shit is completely wrong. With hte 3.3 step, the "seconday stats sucks" doesn't matter anymore. And probably will make them the best weapon in end game, rivalizing with Savage ones.

You need time, of course, but that doesn't make the weapon a shit.

Didn't they also more or less come out and say the secondary stat extras on the 3.3 relic will be the equiv to as if you could put in 3 tier V materia as well? That doesn't sound shit to me, so either way with the time and effort the relic can be just as worthwhile since you can come customise the stats to suit your needs.

Everyone knocks it but depending on map prices and material prices, wyvernskin and archaeoskin maps aren't incredibly terrible if you have a decent starting bankroll. I was able to get a fair number of my shells and ores out of treasure maps and I actually ended up making about 500k gil by the end of it. I would frequently by any and all wyvernskin maps up to about 35k each and tried to do around 10 maps per day after I completed beast tribes and roulettes. It was much much more difficult to profit from Archaeoskin maps than it was from Wyvernskin, though.
