Either way, be happy with whatever they choose. Although I have no idea how they plan to balance classes, develop a support role, and create distinct yet balanced jobs (with the 'constraints' of 1 weapon = 1 class = 1 job). Going to be interesting.

well, conjurers and thaum has 2 types of weapons each
One way they could implement this is to for example having great swords as "2h Gladiator weapons" (which imply all GLA Jobs will also be able to use it) and then Katanas as "2h gladiator weapon" but jobwise restricted to Samurai, which means you can Use it as a Gladiator or a Samurai but not as other GLA related jobs.
Likewise have Scythes as "2h marauder weapon" but restriced to MRD class and Dark Knight job while 1 hand axes be usable my MRD and all of it's jobs.
The key here is to which Class the weapon is linked, then they could be more flexible about the Jobs that can also use it.
Right now it is one job per class, but once content is fleshed out they will be able to implement more. Also the way they changed the battle system, they could as well change the armoury system to over come the original concept, but from that point on it's pure speculation, which I'd rather wait for official news instead.
Enough arguing. Let's just focus on how incredibly awesome the concept armor looks!
I have a master's degree thanks. I am not a Dark Knight supporter or anything, hence my comment saying I don't really care which job it is. However, it seemed from the tweet that they were hiding something and Dark Knight has received a lot of buzz on the forums. I also mentioned other jobs in that quote.[Removed by Moderator according to the FINAL FANTASY XIV FORUM Guidelines.]
P.S. Did you read the tweet?

I did read the tweet, but I also listened to the words of Yoshida which I was able to understand as I do have a knowledge of the Japanese language. He did present us the Warrior as a job, not a generic fighting job. No need to worry about them hiding something from us.
They are not.
What is confusing is actually something lost in translation. They should have wrote "the warrior" instead of "a warrior" to be more clear. No, In japanese there no pronoun, hence the mixup.
As a holder of a master degree, I'm sure you can be quite rational when times requires it. Now is such a time.
Ahh name calling. The solution to this world's ill.....right?[Removed by Moderator according to the FINAL FANTASY XIV FORUM Guidelines.]
Dark Knight in XI was amazing, but too many people were more about looking cool and using "Dark" stuff then actually caring about playing the job. I've seen Taru DRK outdammage Elvaan samurais. That class was scary, just required some thought and skills.

Im actually disappointed in the armor. Its all cloth and fur. I want to have some cool looking metal armor. But I guess we can assume with the armor being cloth that warrior wont be a defensive class but pure DD. So thats good.
Nothing says if all that fur isn't covering some solid armor under. In the meantime we do get Sentinel Armor for our Shiny, Defensive needs.
Also, if one recalls Warrior AF in XI, this one is quite better looking (in my opinion).
MRD => WAR
Holyomen approves.
You must of been playing ff11 in a different world because it truly was never that good of a job. It only shinned in a very select situations of which all depended on 1. having souleater and 2hr available. 2. having a bard to use a 2hr to buff the drk and 3. having multiple mages spam to keep the dark alive for 30secs/1min in which the end result 80% of the time was the dark accumulating too much hate and dying followed by the mages spamming it w/ cures. You can say relic was great w/ its haste breaking properties but many other jobs where capable of dishing out more dmg w/out a relic and more consistantly. SE nerfed souleater/bloodweapon multihit strats years ago. Almost any HNM outside and alot inside of abyssea where and are immune too souleater/bloodweapon combo. Drks scythe WS are lacking bigtime they are almost as bad as samurai ws that seeing as u refer to SAM u didnt know sam is one of the least favored weakest jobs now for many reasons. Dark underperforms in alot of situations and just in general now. Maybe when dark gets absorb spells that arnt resisted by everyone and there mom and gets faster attacks and a double attk trait you can come back and talk about how awesome DRK is lol.I did read the tweet, but I also listened to the words of Yoshida which I was able to understand as I do have a knowledge of the Japanese language.
