no one uses them because no one looks there. if people know uldah is were the money is then they wont change, there needs to be incentive like saving money. Everyone only cares about selling there own items therefore no one will take the leap to move to another city. IMO, the need some sort of link system to give people that flexibility and then control it with incentives and taxes. I cant see three separate wards ever making in this game. Maybe if a few thousand more people start playing ad they cant get a spot in uldah they might put one there, but then there is the issue of whos gonna look there. people will go to were the best market is.That's true, but we have to consider why they aren't used. Currently that's because there aren't many reasons to hang out in the cities other than Uldah, but with the new company content that's coming amongst other things, that will change. It might not change much but there will be at least a bit more incentive to place your retainers there.
they did the sp incentive with leves and it really got people moving around, i think the same thing could work with wards.
if they made it so you can check any ward from any city, but you had to travel there to get the item that could work as well since we have airships now.

SE should listen to all the people in this thread that say the game doesnt need an auction house. Most of these people are the same people telling SE they like the game as is. Most of these people love most of the changes SE is making. Most of these people are the same handful o people who were cheering SE on as SE drove the car(FFXIV) over the cliff.
Go ahead SE listen to the people who love the product you have made. Lets see just how quickly we can burn this game down to the ground.
I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!
Probably a wise idea, seeing as those people are in the majority.SE should listen to all the people in this thread that say the game doesnt need an auction house. The majority of what...oh you mean the majority of the handful of people who didnt leave because the game was terrible. Congrats they have proven they will eat whatever SE feeds them. Dont fool yourself and believe the majority of new customers will do the same.
Its been proven people will abandon ship quick if SE tries to sell a crap product again.

Likewise, buddy. These forums represent a very small minority of the player population, and an even smaller minority of potential new players.
dont fool yourself into thinking an auction house is the thing thatl make millions want to play a game

You left out the massive negative stigma that the wards have given the game outside of the really tiny player-base.Cons of having wards:
Takes mass of amount of time of searching, gathering multiple items, and warping to the seller.
Most sellers obnoxiously sell their items in SPAM of "999,999,999" to show off or annoy.
There is no price history.
Economy constantly fluctuates making it difficult to know if a buyer/seller is getting ripped off or not.
Lag polluted area of retainers.
Backwards to selling and buying and waste of time in an all around concept. It's like saying Let's make productive cars slower instead of faster.
Without proper supply and demand of a Auction house, people can instantly put up a retainer selling an item lower/higher price that ruins another person in a competitive matter.
Whenever people read about XIV it's usually in the context of: "and there still is no working AH".
It has become a symbol of SE not keeping up with the times, ignoring the results of the poll conducted by themselves, ignoring the requests of people on the forums and failure to get the economy working.
To them no matter what tweaks the MW gets it won't be enough. To people who have seen so many games utilise both bazaars and AH systems XIV will always be the game with fewer options and less user friendliness.
It's absolutely crucial that they significantly increase the popularity of this game to get paying customers but outside of XIV's very tiny community they're pushing all the wrong buttons.
